Speaking of the Keygo5, is everyone still happy with theirs? Any failures?

I never did order one, and they have not come down in price, still about $29 shipped. I'm still trying to talk myself into one, or even this clone...

I was put off from buying one because of the nasty review I read on BLF.

Is there an ORIGINAL Keygos KE-5 ?? Is there an authentic manufacturer.....

Or is Keygos KE-5 just a clone of a clone of a clone for God's sake....??????

I'm the opposite. I'm waiting on one arriving from cyberport888 after reading good things about the light on BLF!. :)

Frow what I read, there have been some driver substitutions that are not up to par. IIRC....the driver WITHOUT the spring is the sought after and brightest one.

Hope you get a good one. Let us know and I'm sure the path will be beaten to cyberport888's door

Here's the story with my three KE-5. I was looking at them on here like everyone was and saw the one that made you want one. So I ordered mine off ebay and I got it and it was a great looking light but it sure didn't look like the ones on here. So I ordered another one thinking I got a bad one. The next one showed up it had different parts inside it compared to the other one so I contacted Keygos and they sent me one and it is by far alot better than the other two. I don't remember what was different I would have to take all of them apart and look.

This one has a spring. It seems well made. Looking forward to trying it out tonight.

I contacted them directly, asking for a replacement KE-5 , they asked a couple questions and told me they would ship me out a new replacement ASAP.

Left:New replacement , Right: Original one i had.

Same drivers? Replacement: 2.2A Hi, Original: 2.0A Hi . The replacement does seem to have a brighter hotspot .

The KE-5 is cheaper direct from them than from the ebay seller I got mine from. :(

They are all clones of each other. All the hosts come form the same plant but they put their own internals in them. Right now you can get the Beamtech BT-950L version for $22 shipped from Tmart. It has the good driver in it, not the 2A driver Keygos has been using lately. All it is missing is the spring for the positive battery terminal (easily added).

I can't see the driver from the ebay pics in the link Rick originally posted but in every other way it is the same as the Beamtech BT-950L.

In my opinion all the KE-5, BT-950L, etc... are all copies of the Ultrafire 980L. I was just cruising through Tmart's site looking for something new and found what appears to be the real deal UF 980L for just $21!! If it's the real McCoy it's an unbeatable price on the light that started it all.

I wish I had seen this before I bought the BT-950L from them!
