Went to my favorite store today(Buchheit) and bought this Keystone Crickett 22lr at a bargain of a price. This thing is said to be a tackdriver with the 10.5” barrel and the Williams Truglo adjustable sights. You can even mount a scope to the dovetail on the barrel if you want, or mount one to the tapped receiver. I told the guy to get me one in a 17HMR and call me when he gets it. I’m going to shoot it today and the 22 Mag Taurus I bought recently.
Are you gonna hunt tree rats with that thing ?
Nice! I want a Crickett rifle for myself to use for a varmint gun. Should be loads of fun with CB rounds...
You need to get some Remington CeeBee if you can find any right now... I like using the Aguila Super Colibri for target plinking in the back yard without alarming the neighbors...
Want something with some serious velocity, get a box of Aguila Super Maximum; advertised as .22LR with Mag velocity.
I shot these as part of a worst-case scenario test, using my .22LR derringer into water-soaked phone books. There was about 2" of barrel. The best performer was the Super Maximum with about 7" penetration and expansion (even from the tiny barrel) to .380 (9mm).
I split the hollow point of the CeeBee rounds at the pre-molded lines to get the expansion you see on the bottom pair...
It’s a shooter especially for open sights.
I just bought this one this evening. It’s the same exact pistol but in a laminated stock version. It feels nicer in your hand. I think it looks better as well. This is a a 22lr as well.
Interesting
I bought a pink cricket for my daughter…surprisingly accurate for such a teeny little rifle
I still like my Ruger 10/22 Krinker Plinker and my new to me Remington 597 that I paid less for than the cricket for it ($100)
Yeah…I have a few guns
The bolt is on the left side for lefties.
I have a custom Remington XP-100 that looks like the Keystone Crickett but chambered in a .308 Win.
Uh… NO.
The bolt handle is on the LH side so you can keep your grip with your RIGHT hand while your Left hand cycles the bolt, inserts the next round, and goes back to providing support.
I cannot adequately express the disdain “bolt-action pistol” manufacturers had to endure in the DECADES it took them to figure this out.
Ergonomics isn’t rocket surgery.
Wow... you are making me want one of these VERY badly. One of the true benefits of a single-shot .22 is that a box of shells lasts much longer. And with rimfire ammo as rare as it is now, that's a good thing. With my semi-auto .22 pistols, I could burn through a box of ammo in a few minutes. This makes you slow down and focus on each shot.
I would love to see how this performs with some Super Colibri, I would even try to pattern a shotshell with it... the .22 shotshells have such a tiny pinch of pellet-dust that it's hardly worthwhile, and they don't like any amount of rifling.
I like the functionality and durability of the plasic stock/grip on the first one, but a nice wood grip really does class up a piece. I'm going to start watching for one of these at the shows in my area.
I used to own a Magnum Reaserch Lone Eagle chambered in 7/08 Remmington. What a flame thrower. In low light conditions it would throw a flame for 6 feet when you touched it off. Ear protection was mandatory.
Me with 2" snubby .357 Mag:
Even if you miss the target, you'll still set it on fire...
Thanks guys. These pistols are simply awesome to shoot. I just put a bipod adaptor and bipod on the synthetic stock one. That will turn this thing into an immediate tackdriver from any table, deck or fairly even surface.
