Korean Flashaholics Get-togeter

Hey BLF, our fellow flashaholics had a get-together this fine Saturday evening.

Although school had started this week, I was very excited to join for my first time, as I had discovered the forum very recently. Eight people showed interest, but we ended up with five, including myself.

We had a sumptuous meal together, specifically some chicken and Korean pizza, as they decided to call it in English.

Then, we showed off our lights:

We obviously had invested thousands of dollars in flashlights, including the Polarion PH40, FF4, Olight SR95, and many more.

I brought my modded K40, M6, and my 445nm laser, and we had a great time together. I’ve always longed to meet up with people who liked lights as well, and my wish finally came true.

Here’s Mr. Admin, and he says cheers to BLF.

I was presently surprised by the fact that he regularly followed our posts and knew about me through BLF and LPF even before I signed up at the Korean forum.

He also generously gifted me a Xtar WK50 AA EDC light:

Thank you all for the wonderful evening. 감사합니다.

sounds like a blast. there is a lot of nice lights on that table! is the Mr. Admin active on BLF?

and what is that food sliced like a pizza? eggs, potato? looks good

Wow, some good lineups there

Yeah I think it’s nice to meet some people with the same hobby and just chat. Glad to see happy faces on the meeting.

Yup, we had some traditional Korean drink called 막걸리 (mak-gul-lee).

I personally didn’t drink alcohol so I had a can of Sprite.

I don’t think Mr. Admin has a BLF account, but I’ll urge him to get one, haha.

The pizza looking thing
is made out of 녹두 (nok-du), which is a type of bean. We often add kim-chi or seafood as well. It was pretty good.

It definitely was a blast to simply talk about lights.

sounds good. kim-chi sounds good too.

whats the light up front with the blue button and wire attached? a bike light?

Yup, it’s a 3x XM-L bike light with a modified driver to reduce/remove the PWM of the stock driver.

Cool! Did you get to see any lights that were manufactured in Korea?

Looking for them would be one of the things for me to do next time I’m over there :)…

Unfortunately not, but I did find out that Polarion’s reflector supplier was from a Korean company, and that company also manufactured multi-million dollar reflectors for satellites and space shuttles.

I’ll get you a cup of coffee if you do visit here, haha.

SolarForce X2 I believe.

Sounds like a great group of guys

Good effort. I bet you all had a few strange looks from other customers. What light was best at keeping the pizza warm?

Looks like you guys have some “Fire Power”
And the food looks good to.

SolarStorm X3 actually

Hey, that's really great! Looks like y'all had fun with it. There's some great lights there to play around with.

The Polarion is a monster. I have seen a PH50 in action a meter away from me and this was WOW. I think the PH40 will also have this effect :)

. Thais great to get to meet other thatshare same bond and ma. Some nice lights!

Thanks for your replies guys.

I was told that on a former get-together, the Polarion was tailstanding for too long and scorched the ceiling. :open_mouth:

I’m sure it wouldn’t have a problem keeping the jeon warm, haha.

Luckily, there were no other guests so we had the entire restaurant for ourselves. The owner didn’t seem to care too much about our collection.

He was probably saying to himself “미친 사람들”….lol.

Good to hear it was a good meet.

Hahaha, you bet.
