You will probably be able to squeeze some more juice out of it in that 3T6 with a buck driver.
I haven't heard of anyone trying to use that driver as a real buck driver, but I guess there's only one way to find out...

I'm disappointed! I thought I was going to open this thread and read about some new Chinese dinner recipe! I do like what I see though! Great job! I'm glad to see there are others here that are "crude" (no offense, you used the work to describe your own work) in their mods as mine are quite crude as well.

I'm sure you all got the name, but for any that didn't. I originally named this Kung Pao Nichia because I expected to run 12 amps and for the emitters to get quite hot. Like the dish I love, Kung Pao Chicken.
Turns out the Vf of these Nichia's is too high to achieve 12 amps using 1S cell configuration. I don't have the heart to change the name though because I think the light is hot in other ways.
Those beamshots are familiar…very reminiscent of the driveway at my Sis-in-laws in Mississippi.
The tint looks great in the big outdoors for sure! Is that a coon up a tree?
And regarding my thoughts on the power level, I wasn’t even aware of the 219B emitter! Wow! Sorry about that.

I imagine Mississippi has similar dirt and vegetation.
I think that is a neighbors light, but you could be right that it was a coon. He recently cleared his land and put up some light poles. That plus the bare trees from winter. People and their area lighting. Wish they would just stay in the city.
We used to be able to look at the stars, enjoy a moonless night. Now a cop lives next door and has lights on outside 24/7/365… he bough my sis’s house. If he didn’t have camera’s up I’d douse the hot lights with ice water….

I received this light through the "GEARBEST 2018 Mid-Year Giveaway". I have a few details to fill in below. I'll update them once I have them..

Charges at .__ amp rate and terminates at 4.1__ (will provide this later). Didn't test for proper charging algorithm.
Output:
I recently made some changes to my integrating tube and have not had a chance to calibrate yet. So take my measurements with a grain of salt. Using an INR18650-20R (all my 18350's are a bit tired), I measured "tailcap" amps of 3.7 at start up. The amperage drifted to 3.6 amps at about 30 seconds. Lumens measured 1200-1300 at startup and drifted down to about 1100-1200 at 30 seconds. I saw not indications of thermal sag.

Driver and Testing Results:
The manual says the head is sealed. There is white glue holding the driver in place and the bezel wouldn't unscrew by hand. Normally, I like to open up a light so that I can measure both input and output. At this moment, I don't have time to break open the head and test. I also really like the light and don't want to risk hurting it at this time too. I connected the driver input to a variable cv/cc power supply and got some weird results. Amperage draws very low and the switch slowly led flashed red during the process. Like with cells, power consumption dropped as voltage dropped.
The light appears to be some type of direct drive type driver. I could not detect any PWM (visually or with phone camera). Also could not hear any whining. Due to the power supply issue, I didn't test low voltage protection.
UI:
Excluding the high output to low output mode order, the UI is great. The last mode memory makes the mode order tolerable, but it would be much perfumed to have low to high order.

The product box is very attractive and which contributes to making this a great gift light. The packing in the box protects the contents well.
Battery tube and tailcap are one piece. Driver is held in place by a white glue.
Square-cut threads also on the top end of the battery tube.
Nice looking reflector and A/R coated lens.
USB port cover is nice and snug.

Conclusion:
This light is very nice. All kinds of nifty features all in one package. I tend to just EDC triple A lights, but I light tempts me to give it a shot. Wish is was winter. It's a winner all the way around.
nice SRK/Nichia 219 mod 
its probally the best-tint SRK out there.
Nichia should build an XM-L sized, or a MT-G2 sized version of the 219B emitter…

I have implemented your tail cap lockout mod in almost all my SRK-type lights. It's still one of the lowest cost, easiest, reliable mods that I know of.

Im still around, just haven't been modding or posting that much lately. For the first time in a year I dont have a single order incoming. Maybe im cured. :p Ill order some more stuff soon though, but probably not many flashlights. I still have several projects/lights that have been sitting and waiting for me to mod them, but im in no rush. Im noticing there are less and less interesting lights to buy (that I don't own or have owned). And its not much new stuff to try out in terms of emitters either, so not that much new stuff to experience. I think your mod, the emitters you used and peoples experiences with FET mods are quite interesting though. :)

Im reading BLF on a daily basis, if not from the computer then from my cellphone. I still need my fix and I always have plans for mods to do. ;) Im just down to a more sane level now.. :D

Yeah, I find that I at least read BLF even when my interest in lights wanes. Lately, I have been interested in doing mods, even though there are a lot of other things I should be working on this time of year. I'm some what neglecting them as I try to finish a few lights and then move on to the scratch build contest.
I think this will be a long term hobby for me as technology should keep improving. All this driver activity is exciting right now.

Thank you very much for the nice compliment. Other than output on high (which is more than enough most of the time since I mostly use low and medium modes), I really have been digging the light. I just love having the option to belt out a bunch of light. Just in case it is needed (OK, wanted).
