Lancman's entry to 3rd Annual Scratch Built Contest - Hand Made

Why thank you kind sir.

Nah, just go for it and have fun. I’ve already won the prize for finishing first (if there was such a thing) so everything else is still up for grabs.

Thanks, I guess that makes it Old School, like me.

With me being the simplest of the lot!

There must be a golden ratio in the proportions of this torch, it’s very satisfying to look at

I came

That thing is georgeous.

WOW, bravo, great looking light.

Very nice!
Beam shots?

Many thanks for the kind words gents.
I haven’t done beam shots since they look exactly the same as every other XML P60 drop-in.
I must say this torch building lark is scarily addictive though - I’ve already got another two on the go!

One is an all copper version:

and one isn’t (all copper, that is):

Both very much work in progress at the moment, but showing promise.

That last one with the copper and the wood, is a work of art.

They are all works of art. The artistic touch and ability plainly show through.

If

ALL-CLAD

and

Chris-Craft

Made flashlights.

I'm in love. Nice efforts.

They look like fine art!
Make it an incan to keep it “authentic” to the style.
Amazing work!

These are some amazing builds, and a very nice and entertaining build description. :-) , thanks for showing.

Like others, I like the last one (with the wooden handle) best, it looks so sophisticated, love it!

Doh! Maybe I should have entered ‘Woody’ into the competition instead.
Never mind, I’ll maybe do a short build thread anyway when it’s finished.
In the meantime I’m hopefully off on my hols (already had one flight cancelled) to sunny(?) Scotland - hardest packing decision is which torch to take? :~

Take a bright one, and runtime is not important, up north it is just a few hours dark this time of the year :-) (where are you going to?)

How did you bring B- through the handle?

You have done an excellent job on this build. I’m both impressed and jealous.
