hey guys i just got a laptop and downloaded firefox and i am trying to download some addons (add blocker plus) but it says firefox can not modify the needed file ??? im no computer expert but could anyone help me please
You can try making a new Firefox profile or resetting Firefox to default and reinstalling add-ons:

i did restart firefox but nothing changed about it ? still cant download any addons
There is some thread about budget knives on this forum and even if Firefox is free, it’s not a budget browser…
Anyway Firefox don’t accept right away plugins that don’t come from addons.mozilla.org.
So if your plugin don’t come from this site, try search on it.
Adblock Plus is intellectualy compromized. It let pass some ad, probably for author profit.
Choose Adblock Edge but it’s only available for Firefox, not Google Chrome.
If you really try to install add blocker plus, I can say it’s not really an ad blocker.
You you still can’t install adblock plus, try a portable version of firefox
install it on a separate folder and try it.

Try 25.0.1 or 25 if the latest (26) doesn’t work. Personally I prefer to use the latest for security updates.
Do you know about web beacons/tracking too? I recently read this article which prompted me to switch from Ghostery to Disconnect.
I don’t see why you need an older version of any browser.
It’s if for performance issue, try Internet Explorer 6 (but you need to be on windows XP which also help if you have performance issue).
