You can choose between the CREE XHP70.2 and the LatticePower P70
At first I thought they were using the Lattic Bright fake LEDs, but it seems like these are different. Or did lattice bright actually become good at making LEDs and changed their name?
I believe LatticeBright is Jianxi LatticePower Semiconductor Corporation.
I also have http://www.latticepower.com in my browser history but neither it nor latticebright website load for me today…
When did CREE become good at making LEDs? Heavy dual tint separation (CREE special feature), greenish and bluish LEDs, low CRI, easily what to expect from XHP70.
Some of the worst high CRI LEDs they used to have in the past.
CREE also sold their LED business recently and they had subcontracted other less known manufacturers to make some of their LEDs in the past.
I think that's a flashoholic syndrom. They point the flashlight at a white wall and start complaining about at even a slightly green hue :)
I wonder if LatticePower is becoming a bigger player in the flashlight industry. Acebeam wouldn't like to 'hurt' their reputation by choosing a subpar LED manufacturer. I'm not talking about the stuff we tend care about, like how close the LED is to the BBL, Tint etc, but the size/professionalism of the LED manufacturer.
That’s to be expected, many MCPCB’s (the board the LED is mounted on) are compatible with several different LEDs. Frequently the manufacturer will label as being for a certain LED, but knowing that other LEDs will be compatible with it. In the case of XHP70, it’s a 7070 (70mm x 70mm) footprint, and a few other LEDs work on the same board, such as the LatticePower P70.
What are your thoughts on the LatticePower P70 in your L35? How’s the beam, tint, etc?
I’m going to give the L35 a crack at our local field when its dark, there is a nice 410m stretch of field which would be a nice test for throw( I expect it to perform wonderfully ).
This is my first powerful torch, and compared to my other home one, it packs quite the punch.
at about 5cm from the lens, my hand warms up instantly on turbo press.
The tint is pure white against my white board, however the mix of sunlight obscures this observation slightly and should be done at night to convey a honest report.
Quality and feel are exceptional.
As for the beam shot, what would you recommend for camera settings, I have a DSLR which I use for this.
I would be very interested in seeing a picture of the beams of those two lights at that distance. I am interested in their capabilities. I would encourage you to do it! LOL. Best regards.
