Launching the Flashlight Review Database

Besides the usual ~weekly update, I fully added these ones:

  • theLAB.gr
  • BLF sub category: Diving Light Reviews

I had to reduce the pace a bit due to some health issue. Gotta take care of me a bit more. Also more time lost in traffic now.

All BLF Lantern reviews are now part of the FRD. Merry Christmas to everyone !

Merry Christmas to you!

@NightTime This is such an awesome project! If it works this way, I’ll send you some links to BLF reviews that I don’t see in search results.

1 Thank

Thanks for sharing. I might start paying attention to new lights coming out. It’s kind of amusing to see reviews of decades old lights.

1 Thank

I have about 7000 other BLF review links to digest. It’s totally normal to not see them all now. I try to focus on new reviews. When I get more time, I work on olders ones to. Still, I will look into the one you send me.

Thank you! Enjoy making your idea come to fruition!

@wolfgirl42 , I just added your website wolfgirlreviews.com into the FRD !
@lumenzilla , I just added your website Reviews - LumenZilla into the FRD

Also, I refreshed all header pictures for the new year.

Besides the usual ~weekly update, I fully added legacy LightPaintingBlog into the Lumireviews.ca.

I swaped all bmengineer review links with Internet Archives alternatives because the site is now down.

Also, I noticed LiquidRetro as back to life since a few days !

Great resource! I wonder if this find would be of any use - it has a substantial number of beamshots organised in a table form:

Hi mcjtom, thanks for the link. I actually have a bunch of other websites in my spreasheet that are not listed above. wikilight.de is one of them:

I’m still not sure if I will consume them in the future. In an ideal world, I would, but realistically, that’s a lot of work for mostly outdated information.

All SammysHP reviews (not their BLF counterparts) reviews are now part of the FRD: from 2013 to 2024.

All flashlights/Pistol Light reviewed by LowLightDefense are now included into the database !

Dear community of flashlight enthusiasts, just a quick message to let you know that I’ve added a “Tag” search box to Lumireviews.ca for Anduril UI !!

It’s not a real Wordpress tag: I have to do it manually. What I mean is, it’s the first tag, but it could be the only one because it’s too much work :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Please note that the Tag column is hidden.

Thank you so much for your time!

Hi everyone, I’ve just added a new column to my database: Max lumen @ 30 min.

The information is complete since April 2024, but I also did my best to backfill older data with the time I had available. I continue to update past entries whenever possible.

Regarding this new column:

  • N/A means the test was not conducted or the light did not reach 30 minutes.
  • (to analyze) means… well, it still needs to be analyzed.

Also, no more column for the LINKS. You just click on the flaslight Model. This gave me the space for the new column.

Feel free to comment.

Hello everyone,
Over the past two years, I’ve had to deal with some changes in my life that made it difficult to keep the database updated. I managed to stay on top of it for a while, but that’s no longer possible.

It saddens me to say this, but I’ve reached a point where I have to step back and put my time and energy elsewhere. I’ll still be following along and keeping an eye on what’s happening in this little corner of the world, but from a more distant and less involved perspective than before.

For now, I’m still covering the cost of the domain name (it’s not expensive) so the site will remain accessible.

Sure, there much more in life than flashlights. Keep my fingers crossed for whatever you’re aiming for.

I’m very grateful for all the work/time/efforts you’ve invested to create it and this will not be forgotten.

Please come by when you can, your knowledge and experience can’t be overestimated.
