I ordered some parts from MTN a couple of years ago and they accidentally put some extra parts in my order and when I told them, they let me keep them. My question is will they work in a Convoy M21 C8+?

I think they will but I want to get a second opinion and maybe a recommendation for another shell they will work with. Also what type of lens would be the best option for a good throw.
Yes the Convoy M21A takes a 20mm driver and a 20mm MCPCB.
I’d recommend the 7mm Smooth Reflector for that configuration.
If it were me, I’d order a SFT40 5000K when ordering the M21A Host.
I agree the SFT40 is a better emitter but I want to use the one I have, instead of letting it go unused. I’m giving it to my son and he doesn’t care what I do with it. I know someone who has a Convoy S21E, he said that what I have will fit in it, so I might get it.

The S21A Host would work, it also takes a 20mm driver and 20mm MCPCB.
However you mentioned wanting throw, and the M21A would far out throw a S21A.

Can I just solder the LED onto the e-switch driver?
It looks like I would be better off buying the M21. The S21e is damaged return item and I don’t even know if the e-switch works. Also if I put my driver in place of the e-switch, would the useless usb port stop it from working?
Your driver currently has guppydrv which is a clicky/Mechanical switch firmware.
In order for your driver to work in a S21E you’d need to add a Mechanical/Clicky switch or flash the MCU with e-switch firmware.
Yeah M21A or S21A would work with your Driver and LED.
There are some Hosts from KaiDomain that also use 20mm Drivers and MCPCBs but the M21A would out throw all of the ones I can think of.
I just bought a new S2+ from gadget connection and he said that the only spare body he had was a S21e that someone returned after pulling the guts out and was trying to do some business with him. I do have a mechanical switch that I could use but it depends on how much he wants for the light. If it’s too much, I will get the M21 from MTN electronics, where I got my first host body. I used the sst40 in it and I can light up my neighbors house with it.
That host isn’t Designed for a mechanical switch so you’d need to source a Tailcap or do some crazy modification to fit a mechanical switch in that host.
Well that is enough for me to say no to the S21e. Maybe I will get it and see if I can fix it.
I was looking at the Convoy site but I’m to impatient to wait that long to get it. MTN has for $17 and I’m ok with that.
