LG INR21700M48F check for authenticity

I just purchased an e-Bike battery that is supposed to contain LG 4800 mAH, 21700 cells.
I opened it up and found cells with “INR21700M48F” printed on them, but no “LG”.
How do I verify that these are actually made by LG? I’ve searched on-line for info, but no pictures of the cell text.
It seems odd to me that LG wouldn’t put their name on all of their cells.
Thanks!
Craig

Without knowing that specific cell, it’s been my experience that bare li-ion cells are treated like many other industrial commodities - labelling minimally sufficient to identify and often little else as the customer base are B2B buyers and the product’s going into something anyway. Glancing at example images online appears that could be sold as a bare cell thus any overwrap may well be something added by a reseller.

So, there’s really no way of knowing? That’s troubling!
Would you say the odds are good that it is made by LG?
Thanks!

Where did you buy the e-Bike battery from?
Do they have a bunch of customer reviews?
If so, maybe read the reviews and see if others think the cells are real.

I bought it on eBay, and I checked the feedback before I did, and there isn’t any negative feedback for the battery.
I know that doesn’t say much because the negative feedback gets removed if you return the item and get a refund.

I guess it would be unlikely that a counterfeiter would choose this cell to counterfeit. Unless these cells have a stellar reputation that I’m not aware of.

So, if it’s not unusual for these cells to not have “LG” printed on them, and given that if they are LG cells, they are supposed to be pretty good, I suppose I’ll keep the battery and test it out a bit.

I guess it’s the 21700 battery customized by LG for Tesla. The battery doesn’t have PVC, the positive electrode is aluminum, and it’s concave

Currently, all batteries on the market are equipped with steel positive electrodes and flat top

Currently, many batteries are removed from Tesla devices, and this type of battery is very cheap

Of course, it is also possible that it is not an LG cell, but a Chinese made cell

If there are battery photos to show, it will be clearer

according to this website that is an LG product number:

No other clear info avaialble on the internet. I was looking at the same ebike batteries on ebay (Apr24), is it a while since your post, how is the battery performing?

Thanks for stopping by, nat!
