It’s O-L contest season  so I thought this might help some members who have entered or considering entering the O-L contest.
I’ve made a couple of lights on my lathe now and my tip is it’s best to have all the components on hand before you start slicing and dicing. So it’s good to have a clear image in your head of what you want to build before ordering parts. Drawings always help but if it’s not drawn to scale the end product can sometimes have a different appearance to what you were expecting. This is more prominent when size, weight are being kept to a minimum. The issue is when you think of building ‘a light’ you think of the aesthetics (what you want it to look like) but in reality you are building a host around the components.
I looked up “how to’s” and “tips” on blf and came up with this list of links that might help / inspire
It looks like we are stirring a little more interest for the comp
If you have any questions even before starting a thread / mod / build remember you can always ask. Start a thread with your questions (and it could morph into your comp thread) or ask in an existing thread - The There Are No Stupid Questions Thread
BLF is a friendly place so make good use of the people here
