I've set up notifications on a Dutch marketplace website for several Spectrometers. So in case they get offered for sale, second hand /used, I receive a notification.
But I sometimes encounter brands I didn't know of.
So I thought it could be nice to have a list of Spectrometers, so people can look for them new/second hand.
The list can also include other devices that have the features of a spectrometer.

Note: The Konica Minolta CL200A has several attachments. So if you buy it second hand, make sure you get the correct attachment. It’s also not a realy spectrophotometer, but a Chroma Meter
Used with ArgyllCMS (free, Windows, Linux, Mac, command line) (there are other supported spectrophotometers listed but I’m not sure how common they are), ArgyllCMS pro (100$, Android), or Babelcolor CT&A (125$, Windows, mac, only i1 pro).
I have a i1 studio, paid 350€ new, but they are discontinued now, like the Colormunki Photo, the other day one went for 101€ + 20€ shipping from Italy on Ebay . They are more common on the US second hand market, Here is one for 150$ .
Maukka uses an i1 pro with CT&A, recognisable from the screenshots.
Only for the i1 display (colorimeter) and studio (spectrophotometer) apparently. I didn’t mention it because the price is significantly higher for what is likely exactly the same thing.
Colormunki Photo , because there is the Colormunki display which is a colorimeter.
Asensetek is still going AFAIK. They are available for purchase on alliedscientificpro.com, and their app is still being updated. I’ve had one for years and love it. Smaller than a deck of cards, it fits easily in my laptop bag, so it’s always on hand. You’d be surprised how often a quick read of a light source comes in handy.
I hope so too! It’s a great product. My guess (hope) is that they were acquired and that result in website changes. But I can’t find anything about it online one way or the other.
If you look at their (Spectrum genius) address details, they are named Asensetek Canada Inc, and interestingly enough, their email is from alliedscientificpro.com.
First time posting here but I’m wondering if anyone would be able to help. I’ve seen some documentation here where some people are using a ColorMunki Photo, some people are using an i1Pro, and some people are using CT&A.
I would like to buy the equipment needed to perform some measurements on various LED light sources I have acquired.
I’ve found the following:
Colormunki Photo is available used for about 150 USD on eBay or so. Seems to work with Argyll CMS and this GitHub which seems to process the files.
i1Pro v1 (can also get a EFI E2000 which appears to be the same thing for 170USD) seems very old and appears to be supported by CT&A, which has a free version but I’m not sure if that is sufficient to generate the reports I see here; unknown if EFI version can be used with CT&A;
i1Pro v2 seems to extend the measurement brightness range of V1. More expensive.
I’m wondering what would be the minimum viable way to acquire these and perhaps an integrating sphere for <500 USD. Bonus if it would work for calibrating monitors as well.
Would anyone have some recommendations for where to start?
