Lithium-ion Moli IMR-26700A 2900mAh 3.8V Cylindrical High Power Cells

Edit: 8/16/2013

(See all below postings in this thread)

I am now selling the Lithium-ion Moli IMR-26700A 2900mAh 3.8V Cylindrical High Power Cells.

These are the ones manufactured in Canada, used in many power packs, electric cars, etc. The batteries I am selling are brand new, not used and out of power packs. They come about 50% charged, you will be the first owner and are buying the very best.

Here is a link to the web page I designed for this battery: http://elektrolumens.com/Batteries/26700/26700-Battery-Specs.html

I made some additions to the web page, with more information. Also, there is a link to my shopping cart page to purchase this battery.

The price is only $12.80, pre-sale price. In addition, for today only (8/16/2013), I am offering free shipping to USA destinations only. I will remove the free shipping option on 8/17/2013.

This is a pre-sale, batteries will not ship before September 1, but will ship by September 15, 2013.

If you have any questions, email me: waynej@elektrolumens.com

For international shipments, please email me, to see if I can ship to your country, and how much it will cost.

Wayne

I’m looking at buying a larger quantity of Moli 26700 batteries. These are same size as 26650, but have up to a 40 amp discharge. Also, the chemistry is a bit safer than typical Li-Ion chemistry (LiMn02). The best 26650 batteries usually have a max output of 10 amps, these batteries are quite amazing.

Here are the specs.

Capacity (Nominal) :2900 mAh
Nominal Voltage: 3.8 V
Size :26.4 x 70 mm
Weight: 101g
Operating Voltage: 4.2 V to 2.5 V
Charge Voltage: 4.2 V ± 50 mV
Cut-off Voltage: 2.5 V
Maximum Discharge :40 A
Maximum Charge :7.4 A

Just wondering about the interest there might be in these batteries? I had some in stock before (different skin, but same battery), and I really sold out fast. It can be difficult sometimes to buy a good 26650 that can put out the power required by my flashlights, and also, some of the other high power flashlights out there.

Price would be around $12/ea approximately, might vary a bit depending on quantity I purchase, etc.

It would take about 3 weeks to get them in from time of order.

Links to 3$ and 4.5$ per cell removed as thread starter requested.

Edit:Flomotion,please remove my quote.

The second seller has a pretty low feedback score. First seller seems ok.

nice way to crap on a trusted traders thread too, thanks for that.

Elektrolumens, depending on if you could ship to the uk, I’d be interested in a few, my 26650 supply is pretty poor so I’m in the market for six or so.

Do you strip the cardboard and put a real wrapper on them? I'd probably be in for a pair if you do

I could buy from the same source I did before, has the green plastic wrapper on them. Or, re-wrap with my own. Didn’t really think about the wrapper material.

I leave the cardboard on in most of my lights. Seems like better protection. Some are too narrow and I have to slide off cardboard and shrink wrap.

The cardboard gives the lights a nice feel because it cushions the cells. No rattles. I think the cardboard would absorb some leakage should that ever happen.

The prices in the ads in the 2nd post seem way too good to be true. Crazy amazing deals if they are as I have never seem them lower than estimated in the OP.

The ones in the OP say made in Canada so how are the Chinese sellers selling them so cheap?

Now I don’t want to get crazy here, but I heard a rumour that some products coming out of China aren’t 100% authentic.

(Just having a little fun spaceboy, those prices are seriously too low to be true)

I look at it like this, despite not being able to afford any of waynes products, I find him both trustworthy and approachable, I’m inclined to buy cells from him because $12 for a very high output 26650 cell is a good price, and I dont need 100 26650 cells from an unknown untrusted seller.

moli cells have definitely been cloned before, guess what? they were obviously cheap re wrapped crap. I’d settle for 30 of waynes cells over 100 unknown ones because I’d at least trust they are the real deal.

Can we now stop trashing the thread please? It is at the very least disrespectful.

Someone on this forum contacted an E-Moli exec. and asked about the eBay cells. He looked up the the serial numbers and found they had originally been sold as battery packs and the dates were several years old.
I’m in Canada, and I only know one trusted seller, and electro lumens price is very good. I would buy a few from him.

I'm interested, but I don't have a use for a cell with that kind of discharge yet.

Is our truth so delicate that it can not be subjected to objection?

With all due respect gords (you are totally the man to me), I don't see the issue here. Someone reported what they probably thought may be much better deals. It's possible, but doubtful, that they are better deals. Deeper scrutiny will reveal the truth. The way I look at is, if someone (anyone) is proclaiming a truth, the truth, if real, will prevail against attack and look that much more the better for it.

This forum is about being frugal. The 2nd post could have been more delicate about it, but I think it is fine. Whatever the intention of it, its potential result is the heart of why I joined this forum. Truth will eventually support whether the post is correct or not.

I can be very dense when it comes to politeness and politics. Please feel free to educate me in a straightforward, easy for a 1st grader to understand, manner.

Thanks for posting these I might be interested in a few of them down the road a bit but right now I’m tapped out. Next month I would probably pick some up.

Hi Wayne,

Thanks for offering these. I'd be in for a couple for sure. If there is a price break on quantity I could probly go for like 10+

I am not saying I dont trust you or anything Wayne because you do have a good rep here and at CPF, but if we could get an independent test of these exact cells from your source tested with full discharge data sheets like the ones HKJ does my interest would be over the top.

EDIT: I personally would prefer the ones that came in shrink if we are voting :)

If these batteries have been tested and testing info is available, or not, I’ll check and see.

I can opt for these batteries, or the INR batteries I had sold before, or the Moli 26700a I had been selling before.

Mainly I was looking to see what kind of interest there is out there for the 26650 type battery. Although I sort of know from past experience of selling the batteries there is pretty good interest.

I have been considering also offering a 18650 battery of some sort, and a charger. I had been selling the TR-005 charger.

Wayne

If you could get your supplier to send 2 of these to HKJ, and they really perform... it could be a total game changer

+1, I’m up for the truth being let out, not censorship. It was kinda bad form maybe to post directly after, but we aren’t on CPF to make companies or even good people more money by censoring options, I think that’s also bad form. It would have been better to relate all the bad experiences with aliexpress (which are true) and the likelihood that these cells are counterfeit (also true) and leave the post, censoring it makes it more, not less tempting to go find. Another thing, if you followed the link and went to the site to look, one of the listings showed 2.5 A maximum discharge, while another had specs that seemed to look as though they copied the specs from somewhere else, more strong indications about the questionable nature of those “Moli” cells. Plus, you can hardly get Ultrafire large capacity 18650 cells for $3 each…something is very fishy about those listings and I think the truth speaks for itself.
