My little daughter is going to back to schools in a few days, and I want to give her a present. Since she has seen mini flashlights on TV, and would like to have one. So, I am looking for a cute mini flashlight that is powered by 1xAAA battery. Any suggestions?
How about one of these, they are due to start a group buy hopefully soon.
If you want an inexpensive 1-mode, I like the KD HAIII Buckle V6.

Order with code "BLF" and get an extra 5% off.
It comes in red, blue, and silver (the dark one is actually silver).
I think it depends on your budget.
I have an Olight I3s and I like it very much. Its the best AAA I have. You can get it for $19.95 at Banggood. Got mine for $14.99 during a sale at the same site.
I also have a Tank007 TK-703 and its also good though a little bigger than the Olight I3s. You can get it for $12.03 at Banggood.
I also have an UltraFire M5 and its OK for a budget light but not at par with my TK-703 or my I3s. You can get it for $8.22 at Fasttech.
I got more interested in AAA flashlights lately and I have a Hugsby Mini, a Blackshadow EVA, a Lumintop Tool and a Solarstorm SA-1 coming. But since I haven’t got them yet, I can’t attest to their performance yet.
I recommend that you check other sites first since these lights could be sold at a cheaper price.
This should be posted at the deal alert
Anyway, thanks for the tip. Ordered one.
Here's a thread about the KD HAIII Buckle V6:
https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/4784
I heard they were going to quit producing them, so I bought ten blue ones for $34.40
My family is going to give some of them away for Christmas.
I like my tank 007 e09
The Fenix E05 or the Tank007 E09. Both are great quality, can take some abuse, are 3 mode twisties, and are impressively bright on AAA cell. No heat issues on AAA if left on inadvertently, they will get warm but not dangerously so (no burns but you’ll notice the heat). Look for sales but regular prices aren’t bad for a premium light.
The current GB AAA Fireblade893 mentions will close soon, and I’m in on it but as none have actually been reviewed yet I won’t recommend it. Check those specs yourself if you’re interested. I think it’s a bargain for what should be a premium light.
If you hurry there are still some of the KD Buckle V6’s available, and the Hugsby XP-1 is decent. Single modes, good output, and very bargain prices. Most cheaper lights will be a disappointment compared to these with lower outputs and bad color-tint beams.

There are a lot of good lights out there, I reviewed the Manker Boney, but any of the 5mm LED lights will be tough enough to do, as well as the others mentioned here. The KD Buckle is
nice, but it eats batteries…
The bigger thing is how is she going to carry it?
For best value, and decent output; I like the Hugsby XP-1.
Thinking about it though—the tailswitch which is just-right-stiffness for my use—is
likely too stiff for kids to activate.
It also has a utilitarian, not so much “fun” appearance
I have the standard version of the groupbuy light that fireblade mentions. Its called a SF-348 - and it is a nice little light. Only about 6 bucks. I also have the Hugsby XP-1 which I also really like and it great quality for the price, but again maybe a little boring for a young girl.
Other recommendation is the Tank007 E09. It’s a little more expensive to the other 2 but it is a twisty, has modes and can get it in a few colours.
I would go for the Hugsby XP1.
The Hugsby is a clicky and has 1 mode. The shape offers a good grip. It has a rather firm clip. No lanyard. Nice gift for first-time users.
The Tank007 E09 has a good grip. No clip. No lanyard. Highest output and 3 modes, but is a twisty. So needs some getting-used-to time.
The SF-348 is a 1 mode clicky. Rather good output. Small clip (on a small body). No lanyard.
Sublime finish but it has a downside: it is also too smooth. I would not recommend it when it is raining and you are wearing gloves.
Pink Maglite Solitare from Amazon… Pink
Pretty sure I seen em at Wally World for around 10 bucks or so also.
I better get one for my daughter too…
Manker boney 4.90 from BG.
Hugsby xp1
Maybe even a Nitecore tube 5.99 at BG. I know it’s not AAA but it is small and she might find the ui fun.
You don’t want something too bright for kids.
