Looking for a part - a long strip of aluminum - for a mod.

So I’m hoping you all can help me find some material for a battery powered LED underhood work light I’m modding.

What I need is a strip of aluminum that is 36mm wide and 1-2mm thick to mount the COBs along its length. Oh, total length needs to about 24 inches (61cm). It would be OK if the total length was split into 2 or 3 pieces (for example, two pieces of 1.5mm x 36mm x 30cm stock would be just fine).

Can you think of anywhere to get some aluminum of that thickness? I don’t expect to find exactly 36mm width, so I figure I will have to cut it down (I assume).

One thing that sprung to mind was yardsticks (metersticks) from the local home improvement place, but they are too thick.

Sheet that thin should be able to be scored with a utility knife and broken off.

Hmm, good point on using sheet and just scoring to cut it. Don’t know why I didn’t think about it. They may have them at the local Orange and Blue stores, I’ll check into it tomorrow. Thanks.
