I need a thrower with no pwm, flicker or oscillation. High CRI. Around 5000k cct . Smooth reflector. Decent candelas . Convoy site is vague and confusing. Any ideas? Prefer under $150.00
I recommend you wait a little till Convoy offers the SFT25R in 5700K 90CRI - it was just released.
Agree with this suggestion. For now, the best option for high CRI 5000K throw is either a 719A 5000K, or a sliced 219C 5700K.
I actually am looking for a suitable emitter to replace the ArkPro Ultra’s emitters. I plan to use the SFT25R 5700K 90CRI for the throw channel, but have not settled on the flood swap yet.
Is there any 3V 5050 emitter with HCRI, 4000-5000K and a gapless die, with an area of 4-8mm2? I only know of the unobtainable SFT40 4000K. The FFL5009R is likely too floody or may cause a donut hole.
Is there anything suitable?
I’ve actually been on the same quest for such an emitter for months now! Even after relaxing the 3V requirement, the answer is still no, as far as I know. You might have to settle for floodiness and diffusion film.
I think the NTG35 gets pretty close to what you’re asking for. I have the NTG35 4200K and the SFT40 4000K in two very similar flashlights, and the performance is similar.
Yeah, the FFL351A would also be just right. However, they are both 3535 and not 5050 footprint
I have various lights that use the following 5000k LEDs: Nichia 219c, Nichia 519a, Getian GT-FC40, and Firefly FFL707a. All these LEDs have high CRI, but only one has two more desireable characteristics: beautiful beam color/tint, and decent throw, that’s my Firefly X1L with FFL707A LED.
This X1L is one of my most favoritely lights, and my default walk light. The FFL707A 5000k is a uniquely good-looking 5000k LED to my eyes. I recommend this light (and Firefly E04 Surge if you prefer 4000k) extremely highly.

Ooops took time to type above reply and now just noticed NONE of what I have seem to be listed or available??
X1L gone
E04 Surge only in copper
No FFL707A LED
No FFL505A LED
I love Firefly but if above is true this would be one problem with Firefly compared to Convoy & Hank?? The constant changing of LED and host availability. (Anyone pls correct me as needed as I don’t follow Firefly activity closely.)
I can’t find the X1L on their site either, but the regular E04 Surges are right on the front page. In fact I bought one on Monday: Ember Red, 505A 3500K~4000K, Lume1.
Too bad about X1L - I have two in MAO and they are very beautiful lights. Love Firefly but I wish it would behave more like Convoy and Hank and not change hosts and emitters seemingly so much. T9R another favorite is also gone.
I generally don’t like single emitter TIR because I prefer a good bright spill, but the X1L has a secret and unique weapon
. It has probably the largest hotspot of my throwers, hence enlarging the field of vision nicely.
Found the Surge thank you. Premium quality, premium Lume driver, high CRI, high R9, fantastic tint and beam color, good throw, good spill, rosy but not too rosy. This is THE all-around light that I recommend without reservation, especially because it’s on sale presently.
