anyone know of any company that is using LG 18650 (3000,2900, 0r 2600mah varieties) in their protected cells?
they seem to be incredible cells, the 3000 even seems to be better than the Panny 3100, but I cannot find these cells anywhere with protection.
thanks!
I doubt you'll find protected versions of them, because protection PCB's are usually made for 4.2V batteries, and those are 4.35V.
Btw, does anyone knows where I can get LG D1 3000mAh un protected cells for reasonable ($10/cell or less) price?

Blinders;
The unprotected LG cells will be fine.
I've used ~100 of the 2600mah cells in a variety of lights and lasers.
They are tested to U.L. 1642 like Sanyo, Samsung and Panasonic cells for safety.

Mighty nice prices indeed =). Just not sure if they would work at 4.35v in my Fenix PD32, and I would need a cottonpickers' 4.35v charger to get the best out of these babies.

LG cells have been thru stringent U.L. 1642 testing. . . I have also seen a 1 amp 4.35 VDC charger available . LarryDFW
