As you all know the Trustfire x6 is under driven. I’m looking for someone who well change the driver for me, or change up the resisters. I’m new to flashlights and have no idea on how to do it myself plus i dont have the tools. I just dont want to risk damaging the flashlight. I well even pay some cash maybe using paypal.

They are faulty, the over heat protection will kick in within 1-2 minutes on high.

Not really sure if I want the extra lumens, cuz at stock after 1 hour or so it’ unbearable to hold. I’d say if my TR-j12 is 100 degrees after 1 hour of use, the X6 is like around 160 and that’s indoors.
I have a modded X6 and i wouldn't recommend using it for long duty cycles. This LED is known for producing a ton of heat. I would look into improving the heat sinking qualities as well as the driver swap, ask whomever is up for the task to mod yours. Beefing up surface contact and potting the driver will allow the huge heat sink on an X6 to work much much better.
Vinh over at CPF offers to mod any light subject to whether it can be done. I have a couple of his lights and have had no problem, and they belt out lumens.
I’ve considered doing this myself (buying a X6 and having it mailed to Vinh but my budget doesn’t allow for the moment.
Maybe give him a try?
The hardest part of this mod is the dissembling the X6.
+1, taking mine apart to pot it was a pain in the butt, and that was with the holes already drilled...
Vinh suggested just a solder blob as a makeshit heatsink. I would do this myself if I can open it up, but I don’t wanna risk damage since a few of the threads says u need to create 2 holes in the pill to pull it out?
