Yea my nitecore HU25 is my most used headlamp, ill forget im even wearing it sometimes. looks like theyve updated the ui a bit since mine: one gripe ive had with mine is the flood only has low-sos. I never use sos and just find it annoying, give me a usable setting instead please! the new one has UL-low-mid for the flood. that might make it worth getting a new one for me.
The HU20 sure looks nice too… only 7 grams lighter, a little better throw, little less run time. i like the step spacing on the 25 a little better i think.
The klarus takes the cake for smallest, but for me once you get that small they stop being as useful for runtimes and output. the HU series is pretty much my sweet spot.
Hm…right now i found very interesting thing-Fenix hl32 r…it has acu inside and you can use even aaa…thats perfect…and still very small…
Those are nice. I have an hl18r-t that i really like. i use it for work a lot. The hl32r looks quite an upgrade over the hl18r. Those ratcheting fenix headbanks are among the most comfortable ive worn. But no red light! They have several models that would be just about perfect if they would just include a red light. And get rid of the stupid SOS and give you an actually usable mode instead. I guess sos is a good “idea”… in the one in many thousands chance that you get stranded and your little headlamp sos beacon was the one thing that saved you… my 18r flood beam only has a 30L mode and sos. the 32r at least has 3 usable modes in addition to sos.
The versatility of having on board charging with li-ion pack and the option to use AAA is a huge plus.
My next headlamp is going to be a skilhunt h200. definitely doesnt fit in the “smallest headlamp” category, but for versatility… Ka-boom!
Manker E03 with a USB C rechargeable 10440…?
