USB, as in charging, or battery pack attached?
Fenix HM50R is the smallest that I have - great little light!
Hmā¦ I dont knowā¦ Like nitecoreā¦ They have very small headlampsā¦ With battery pack.
I mean, that depends on what youāre looking for. Streamlight Bandit is pretty small
Nitecore NU series are maybe the style your looking for.
The bulkiest part of the headlamp is often the strap. The petzl zipka has an interesting minimal retractable strap, but the rest of the light doesnāt look great.

Hallo peopleā¦Its 4 years after i asked this-does anyone knows which model is now the usb, smallest for edc headlamp?
Not sure if itās necessarily the smallest, but Wurkkos now has their HD10, which is a similar size as the TS10 but with USB-C charging.
I have had the (new) Nitecore NU20 Classic for a little while now, and I can report good initial experiences with it. It is very small and light altogether, and I keep just grabbing it, although I then have to do without my beloved Nichia 219B sw45k that e.g. the (non-USB) Emisar D2 offers . Anyway, I wanted good outdoor usability, and I like that the NU20 Classic has a 1 Lumen mode for white and a 1 Lumen mode for red.

Iāve had the original NU25 (2017) for a few years now. Ultralight people were in love with it. It was discontinued and replaced with a new model of the same name, which was underwhelming and a downgrade in most respects. The new NU20 Classic is the reincarnation of the original NU25 with modest improvements, I understand. It has a shock cord (reflective and GITD at that) by design.
Donāt know how good the main emitter in the new lamp is, but in the original one it is pretty lousy (CREE XP-G2 S3), but it works and the lamp has high CRI, lower CCT flood LED as well.
My headlamp with shock cord instead of the head strap and a few tiny neodymium magnets under the bracket weighs 44 g total and itās very useful, mostly because itās easy to have it with me most of the time.
p.s. My headlamp has microUSB charging, but Iām sure the new ones are USB-C.
Interesting headlamp history lesson, thank you for bringing me up to speed. This is my first Nitecore headlamp. I got this one for the specific use case of Alpine hut-to-hut hiking, to replace my trusted but truly ancient 3xAAA Petzl Tikka XP. I was interested in small/lightweight, USB-C (it is USB-C), with low-lumen option in white and red, so the NU20 Classic seemed to fit.
As to the LEDs, I am not sure what exactly they are (e.g. āNiteLab UHE LEDā), but this was not really relevant to my initial use case, and it is turning out just fine. I also like the voltage display with 4 tiny blue LEDs. Total weight is 38 g, just as specified, and because this headlamp is so convenient to grab and carry, it has already ended up in my pocket as well. Very useful indeed.

The āoriginalā one? I still have it and it still works! Mine has the sliding diffuser replaced with the red version of it.
The āoriginal oneā?
Well, I am not sure about the Tikka XP version history, but it is very ancient, and it still works at my end as well! It does not even have any red. The sliding diffuser is white, and it has a solid grayish case.
Like this one? The original strap disintegrated long time ago in mine and I had to change the o-ring on the battery cover. Itās a solid design (especially with the red diffuser). There were other XPs with multiple LEDs that looked more modern but were pretty crappy, not even v. water proof.
p.s. I just recalled one more āimprovementā I made: the lip below the LED is presumably to prevent self-blinding, but itās made of semi-transulent plastic and still leaked the light, so I covered it with a tiny piece of black duct tape, which solved the problem.
Yes, this is exactly it! Good to know that I had the not-crappy one all along.
Just got me back on the memory lane as I havenāt used this one for years now - I looked up the manual for it and you will be glad to hear that it goes to 40 lumens on Turbo.
LOL Still served well as a mainly ājust-in-caseā light for mainly daylight tours. It did not get much use apart from that.
In contrast, the NU20 Classic is in continuous use at my end. All things flashlight, and headlamp, have really moved on.
Perfect.Thanks a lot.360 lumens?? Much brighter than my other favorite: Klarus hm3ā¦Very small,but 90 lumensā¦
Great! Good to hear that reporting on some personal preferences and experiences from this region of todayās flashlight jungle was of help to you.
