Not that I care that much but does anyone’s button light not work? I know it’s supposed to be very dim but mine doesn’t work at all.
If the Tool’s body fits, I bet the EDC01’s does too.

Matt, was there any binding at all with the threads when you screwed on the Reylight tube? I have a Tool AAA in copper… and a newly bought copper GT Nano. I tried to screw on the Tool body and while the threads appeared to match, after a few turns I started to feel a little binding. Something I didn’t feel at all with the GT Nano’s tube. So I backed off, for fear of damaging threads (they’re copper, after all). I saw someone earlier on say that the Tool AAA tube will fit the GT Nano, but if it’s more of a “hack” where threads get a little bent to make it possible, then I’m not going to do it. Maybe with all aluminum parts it’s not an issue.
Well, I was going to buy the copper tube… when all of the sudden, NealsGadgets ran out. I decided to go with the brass instead. I kind of like the mix of metals.
Is it any useful indoors? Is there any spill at low levels to see around?
I’m really thinking of getting one as an general EDC though my other EDCs are flood lights for that purpose, i like this light’s look a lot
No, you would get mostly no sidelight. you`ll have to move beam here and there, only spot is visible

There is a little spill. Not much. But it can be useful indoors when you want a confined beam. All in all the 10180 battery is so terribly tiny, making it practical for short use keychain EDC flashlights. But for general carry EDC? No. It just doesn’t last long enough. The GT Nano should’ve been released with a 10440 tube & battery, with the 10180 tube & battery as an option for those who want something extra mini for the thrill of it.
I didn’t put it correctly, the “general EDC” wasn’t right, when i’m out i always have an AA or bigger light in my waistpack or bag but i also keep an AAA or smaller light in my pocket for smaller tasks like looking behind a PC tower under the desk, navigate in the house late at night, checking on the kids at night etc. and this is the only use i have for this light.
I want to get it because i love the way it looks but i wouldn’t want to buy it just to burry it in a drawer.
hm, i think it can work this way, especially for checking kids. it is very dim in firefly mode, so you will not disturb little ones with light
I bought it because it looks cute and because folks raved about the amazing throw for the size. It is amazing but the 10180 battery doesn’t have enough capacity to show it off for more then a few minutes if I’m sitting around having a beer with friends. I could see their initial surprise and amazement turn to a shrug and an unspoken “What’s it good for”. After the first day or so I don’t use it, even with the 10440 tube. It’s just a novelty.
That said, I didn’t bury it in a drawer, it just sits there. The only light I actually put away in a box is a Maeerxu DF01. It would have been a lot more satisfying if the money I spent on those had gone to Hank or Simon.
Edit: BTW mine seems to have high parasitic drain. I haven’t measured it but it drained the cell in 3 weeks and I came close to losing the battery.

Well….I guess you could consider it a collector’s item.
It’s really more of a collector’s item and novelty, with the 10180 battery.
I just got the 10440 tube in brass. It fits perfectly to the copper head. And I kind of like the mix of metals here. PLUS… it feels good in the hand. The 10180 tube is so short. Now with the 10440 tube, you feel like you’ve got a legit mini thrower flashlight. The charger provided by Lumintop also fits on the 10440 tube. I don’t know if it’ll be able to charge a 10440 cell, though.

I have just ordered a copper GT Nano together with a 10440 tube and battery. But I note that the battery that comes in this set (sold on Neals Gadgets with a 25% discount during this Lunar New Year Sale now) is only 320 mAh and 3.7 v.
Question: Will the GT Nano be able to work with a 10440 with some higher mAh? I just don’t want to burn out its LED.
hi. high current may cause burning in case of direct drive. not capacity
usually more mahs- less amperage.
TermsakC: I believe Neal is specifically says in his site that the danger of burning the led only exists for the black Aluminum heads, not any of the others.
Probably because the black ones were the first to be made and their driver is different.
