I have a “Sofirn IF25A incoming…$39 shipped. ($39.99 with a 10% off coupon)
FWIW I signed up for Prime 30 day trial just for this order. I will cancel it in 1.5 weeks. I dont use it enough to justify a $13 / month subscription.
While true, it doesn’t have to be the Lumintop Li-Ion cell to do so. Most of our quality 14500 cells made now days provide plenty of current (1 amp or so + or - a bit) to achieve 650 lumens.
I just picked up one of these with magnetic tail and 950mah 14500 battery included for $22.59 all-in on Amazon a few weeks ago. That was a worthy deal.
Liion has the Vapcell 3A 1000mah 14500 for $4.19. Unless you honestly think you need protected 14500’s. Why would you buy anything else? Really, you pay an extra $2 plus or minus a piece for protected cells. I don’t get it. Then again, maybe I shouldn’t.
I have a boat load of high discharge Windyfire 14500’s from MTN. If ya need a few, let me know. And before you talk smack on legit red Windyfire’s, do your research.
If you have been around non LVP lights long enough it would be safe to use any unprotected cell. I can absolutely tell when a non protected cell is running low on juice in a non LVP light. When you jump up to high/turbo and it won’t hold it, recharge the cell. I’m sorry but this whole “I have to have protected cells to keep my family safe”, most of the time, isn’t necessary.
If it lets you sleep better then by all means, keep on doing what you do. If lack of non LVP light is infuriating then maybe you get fired up too easily.
I am not knocking what anyone else uses or doesn’t use. I am only saying that alky’s and protected cells aren’t the only cells worth using in non LVP devices. I don’t even use alky’s in my remotes so i surely wouldn’t use them in my lights.
I don’t see the point in using 93 octane in a daily driver. Even in my GTmicro, I couldn’t tell any visual difference between my nice shiny new Vapcells and my box-o’–10 EBL 14500s.
Sure, maybe a meter might measure more current and a meter might measure more lumens, but visually, nothing.
So, yeah, buy the high-test if youse want, but my EBLs work just fine in my AA lights.
I guess that was kinda my point. Buy what will work best for you, not for me. I have a bunch of those EBL’s as well. They work fine business. Great value.
