I wonder if this light will be using the newer (cheaper) FETs from the new production FW3As? My guess is that if it’s using the same internals, they are probably coming from the same assembly line and thus will (unfortunately) be using the cheaper components.
Is there a material loss of performance or quality? might be worth taking the guts out my first production run FW3A.
Basically the FW21 is what I asked As**ux to make in their recent GAW where they asked for suggestions for their next light so it’s really close to my ideal, just want/need it to be a quad though
Usually no. Nothing that you would see. This newer FET might have a bit more internal resistance which might measure a bit lower lumens on Turbo. That might actually be helpful on this light.
The bad thing is we don’t know the specs on this new FET. How good or bad is it? Generally speaking, it’s best to always use name brand components that are proven to be reliable.
I don’t see your post were you asked to be added. Post #113 you said you filled out the email form. This means you will NOT see your name on any public list.
Filled in the form, very interested in the FW3A 21700. Never installed any trits before (I’ve only got one on my keyring), but I’m sure thare are people on this forum who will be able to explain the process.
