Okay I received the second ordered light, this time the correct one - sst20 4000k.
The tube o-ring is not fitted correctly. It overlapped the thread and was thus broken. It’s good that I have a spare. Only grease kept him in place.
I don’t like the green bunny (no, not the bunny. I don’t like green much). I am going to replace the switch led with a warm white or purple. I haven’t decided yet. And there is one thing about Anduril that I don’t like. This is #define BLINK_AT_RAMP_MIDDLE. That’s why I decided to pull out the driver. A few photos for interested.
When removing the driver, I damaged the wire, but this is not a problem. I expected this.
The LED illuminating the button is located just below it.
All glue left in the head. I won’t scrape it. I’m too lazy and it is not necessary. In addition, the glue is very hard. There is almost nothing left on the driver.
And the cleaned neck. If anyone wondered what that screw was. Mcpcb is not screwed. It prevents the mcpcb from turning together with the optics and thus the wires breaking when screwing the bezel.
I don't like the green bunny, either. It is actually too bright at night. Would it be possible to mod it somehow so the switch indicator light would have options that you could set using the Anduril UI?
Options:
On low
On high
Steady blinking
Off
There are other flashlights that have this feature, such as the Sofirn SP36.
I tried using black permanent marker over the green bunny, but it won't adhere to the silicone type switch cover material.
Better off to just disable the switch indicator LED somehow and install some trits.
I've been carrying one for quite a while now, might have had one activation - I keep it unlocked just to verify/test. Weeks now with no probs. I had lots of problems with the FW3A - even just to press it down into my pocket it would turn on. I don't understand the complaints bout the lit rabbit - it's perfect for me.
maba - those are great pics! Any details on the camera, settings, etc.?
Is anybody else’s black wearing off the button? The light is rock solid, but my hare is at risk of disappearing. I keep it clipped to my pocket so the only thing the button is in contact with is my pants.
It’s just a black rubber coating on the button. The button isn’t actually black. Mine is too so you’re not alone. I think someone didn’t even get one with a bunny just a black button.
