This sounds like a very rare light Foy. A nice addition to your collection. Did I see Mr Lumens frothing at the mouth when he asked if you were keeping it stock?
Wow, you can use that as a cane. Not reffering to you Foy, or that you

And The Highlander pulls the 7C(?) from his back scabbard to blind his opponent before beheading him. The Immortals’ EDC!
This is the first time I’ve seen a towel under one of your lights.
I want one.
I want to own one to keep in the box for another 20 years.
Who KNOWS how much it’ll be worth then!
Like so many others all I can say is WOW. Never knew they made such a thing plus it would make a great weapon.
Foy,
I bought mine I believe around 1984 or 1985 so. I bought it for a security job.
1.2 something. I messed up the photo in PSP (it’s a testament to my ongoing dyslexia and a reminder).
I bumped into a security guard that was telling all about his old 7 cell lights last year, but till now I’ve never seen larger than a 6 cell.
I own a late 80’s 5D cell maglite and a current 5D maglite.
There beasts, keep em safe and it’ll probably be worth a pretty penny in another 20 or 30 years.

So, yours would be the same older version with no begining C in the serial number. There are other differences as well. The head o-ring on the older version rolls snug over the flashlight tube threads as you slide the head on before engaging the threads. The tail cap is a little different too.
I wonder when they made the change? I have a previous design 2C that came to me in an unopened factory box with a 1996 copyright, which means it could have been printed perhaps quite a few years after that.
I'm almost embarrassed that I find this interesting.

Here’s some pictures of mine. I was right at 20yrs old or so when I believe I bought this one. I may have been a little older.
Ugh, I had been talking to a guy in WV about purchasing a 7D one from him but he has stopped replying to my emails... I guess he probably realized it was worth more than the 50 dollars I offered him for it. :'(
Apologies for my shameless necro-bump and self promotion, but one of these is on eBay now, ending next Saturday, November 18th.
(edit to say that this is a conus-only auction, so anyone outside that range might not see the ebay listing…)
No thank you! I never knew there was such a thing as a 7C Maglite.
It’s a worthy bump for a very unusual flashlight. I must admit reading Old-Lumens’ post made me suddenly sad though.
Agreed! Tonight I plan to raise a glass in Justin’s memory.
I’ll join you later, after work.
In my old Mag days, I was considering doing something like that and calling it “Roar of the Magpie”.
Someone already outbid my $50. I want this.
so 7x1.5V = 10V.
a simple 4x123 flashlight generates 12V in a far more compact size. The 2x18650 format.
How far the technology has progressed.
