What do you get with a 50mm aspheric, 3D Mag and a Cree MT-G2? What I call the MagSpheric :)
The aspheric lens is a 50mm from Thor Labs. It has a 1500grit treatment which acts as a diffuser and has an AR coating. It's pretty swank...and expensive.

To me a big a$$ lens sticking out the front and not being able to nose stand looks like crap but to each their own

While I don’t like aspherics for my own use, I really do like how that lens looks.

One of my early mods was a 10440 DD XRE direct soldered on copper in a Utilitech 1 x AAA with the stock aspheric lens and while I too am not a big fan of square die focus it was an impressive little piece. It was a giveaway and the switch probably crapped out quickly but the giggle quotient was worth it. I wonder what Lumatic is up to these days. He prolly still has a closet full of sets(50 of each) of cheap lights.
