Malkoff

I was wondering why never any mention of Malkoff here?

I think Malkoff was really popular during the P60 days. Malkoff dropins are still among the best and brightest.
Those days are not over, just less common with all the flashlights with integrated heads coming into the market.

Probably because Malkoff flashlights aren’t budget. Same goes for the drop-ins.

Theres always something that performs better or at least comparably for less $$$. That wasn’t always the case though. Budget lights have come a really long way over the years. Back then there just weren’t many high quality or dependable choices in the budget realm.

I Love my Malkoff’s… not the brightest, not budget minded, but they are very well built, tough, vibration/recoil and thermally potted, dual fuel CR123/18650 lights you can count on.

One of the few manufacturers with honest and conservative lumen ratings. With Genes designs you always knew exactly what you were getting.

My first LED light was a Malkoff drop-in for a Surefire G2. That light seemed ridiculously bright to me at the time. I really like the light, I’m actually a fan of the Nitrolon material, but 300 odd lumens doesn’t dazzle like it once did. Still use it all the time though.

Me too… Gets used a lot around the house. I never take it out anymore though. ~200 Lumens just isn’t what it used to be. I still keep it together though just for sentimental reasons. This was my first really good light over a decade ago, and I just dont have the heart to dismantle it and build it into something better.
