Hi all, going through a reflow. I tested each emitter on the mcpcb by touching the anode and cathode side, all emitters individually light up but when I touch the leads to the mcpcb, none of them light up. Is there a short in the mcpcb or do I need to up the voltage when testing the mcpcb directly?
Measure the resistance between the mcpcb's positive and negative pads. If there's a short, you should be getting a reading.
Also, I am speculating that you might have soldered the emitters in reverse polarity. In that case, the emitters should light up after you reverse the leads.
Dale helped clarify in another thread. I was only testing the mcpcb at 3v. I bumped up the power to 6.9v and all 12 emitters showed a faint light, just enough to test my reflow. Thanks for circling back so quickly bilakos! Love how people are very active here ![]()
Ah, I totally missed the fact that the meteor is wired in series ![]()
Good for you that you figured everything out!
Some of us are maybe TOO active, look at my post count…. ![]()
