Meijer brand POWERCELL alkalines. Anyone ever use them? Opinions

Hi i just bought some POWERCELL alkaline batteries for when we lose power. Happens all the time here.
I can’t find any info or reviews on them online.
Has anyone ever used this brand?
If so, how do they compare to the everready gold and the like?

No energizer or duracell.

I mostly use nimh, but like to have some alkalines as back up just in case.

Thanks

If you’re already using NiMH and fully intending for single use batteries to be “back up” / for emergency use you’re really setting yourself up for failure by buying alkaline.

Your ONLY option for batteries intended to be used as you state should be lithium primaries. Name brand is energize L91 (AA) and L92 (AAA) but there are Chinese brands too.

Pros vs alkaline:
WON’T LEAK!!!
MUCH better energy density (much longer lasting).
A bit lighter weight if that’s a concern.
Stable in storage for >10 years.

The list goes on and on. Did you see point #1?

weight is not a concern and thank you cereal killer. I seen the lithium energizers but didnt have the cash on me at the moment.

what are the chinese brands?

Fasttech sells “Nice” brand lithium primaries.

I had some Powercells in an Energizer lantern at my Dads house, used it during the March wind storm/power outage a few years back. They seemed to work fine, lasted about as long as some RayOVacs in the same lantern, no leaks.

Kroger has 4 packs of Energizer Lithium AA/AAA batteries on sale for $5.49 as part of their 5 off 5 sale going on now, I think until next Tuesday,

Meijer had the 4 packs for $5.99 this week.

Check your mail for a coupon good for $1.00 off Energizer batteries.

Thanks PJ. I have never had that evil leak problem with alkalines like a lot of people here on the forum. Lucky i guess.

So the powercells are decent quality for when the lights go out and for computer mice? Never had a leak with any of the cheap batteries the companies throw in the mice.

No leaks in anything at all tbh

I think the Nice batteries were discontinued.

The batteries were not discontinued. You can buy them for sure online at Menards.

I find it funny how about everyone diverted from the original question.

He wasn’t asking about Duracell or Lithium batteries.

You can give that advice but answer the question first, even if you don’t know, just say that.

I am curious about them also because as noted Menards sells them and they are on sale now and wanted to know the quality.

The uses are for remotes and smaller devices.

Thank you.
