Micro EDC lights

Some use internal batteries and others 10180s. Which micro edc lights are you guys using?

Super cool

thanks! Hopefully it helps you decide what kind of micro light youd want.

I like the GT Nano’s.

Ive been meaning to pick up the frog and the gt nano.

The Frog has caught my attention.

But…

I just got a Wuben X-0 Knight. It’s pretty cool.

I just finished reviewing a wuben tp10 which is nice. ive got to check out the x-0 knight

Also ordered an X2-Owl.

I got a bunch, but don’t EDC anything smaller’n 18650. As much as I like the SP10pro and TS10, I don’t want something vanishing into my pocket, or worse, slipping out.

Got a coupla i1R2s (what I now call the R2D2) and a ’pro, a few E3As, an assload of E03s (??, the Glaree AAA twisties), an Orcatorch Esomething, those Thrunite i3whatevers, Tool AAAs, a bunch that I have but don’t even remember what models.

The Glarees I liked using as zipper-pulls, as long as I’d scotchtape the head to the body to keep it from unscrewing, yet still be able to twist to engage. (and then retape). Thinwall tube, thus featherweight, and for the few bux each when I “stocked up”, so had/have plenty of spares Just In Case.

I keep one R2D2 on one of those around-the-neck “lanyards” like you’d wear an access-card holder, so I can have a light if I’m not wearing anything around the house that has pockets.

All the nice ones I’m hesitant to carry, just in case I’d lose it. Hate if it’s the only one I got, is discontinued, or is otherwise irreplaceable.

But in general, I think the R2D2 hits that sweet spot of rechargeable, twisty, captive head, and 2-stage switch (so no twist/untwist/twist going on).

I have several "SP10 Pro" and "TS10" and the "Jetbeam Mini One SE" on the key holder.

I have been carrying a Qooyoo Quantum TI around my Neck for at least 5 years. Still going strong. LED once upgraded to High CRI. USB Rechargable.

Try a wrap or two of plumbers thread tape on the threads. I use it on my i3eos to keep the head from running away and still be able to activate the light without fuss.

Fantastic, Yeah i like the idea of using the pills as zipper pulls and I have put tape on some of the twisty head of my beating lights before too. I have mostly r2d2s as well in many different kit setups simply because of the price point as either close to free or very budget friendly. Im like you where i dont like to loose my one of’s but i have them in kits. For main lights for work duty i typically use 18650 or bigger cell battery lights. I have a secondary either aa/14500 or aaa and then a 3rd pill light like a i1r2eos. For reference I work outdoors and sometimes we have to find lost and injured hikers at night, but in that case im bringing out the big guns in ADDITION to my lights in the even a team member’s light dies or needs a spare. Im like the gadget guy at work so its kinda my unofficial job lol.

ive done this with some old s&W aaa lights and has worked decently. Smart idea.

Nitecore Tube

For many years now I always have a Ti3 in my pocket — just cause;-) Currently my EDC is an E02 II but something bigger is nearly always with me. Currently a TS21.

My keychain flashlight is the RovyVon Aurora A23.

It's on the larger size of keychain lights, but it's the perfect size for me.

Teflon tape? Mmm, might try that to see how it feels.

Was thinking of a thick grease, but the problem is as a zipper-pull, any little touch might just loosen the head incrementally, until next time you go for it, you feel an open end where the head used to be.

At least in a pocket, tube, head, and cell, would still hopefully be there for reassembly, but just dangling…

Meh, for now I’m okay with 1-2 turns of scotchtape.

Sofirn SC01 for me, or DQG Fairy, I find warmer or hi cri emitter options for micro lights is lacking.

I’d like to get a coin cell 5mm light but nowhere does them in 4000K and I can’t find a source of decent 5mm LEDs that ship to the UK.

I have a couple of SP10 Pro and Nitecore Tip.
