Hi guys, long time lurker first time poster. Is there a mod for the 4 seven MMU X3R that would allow it to accept a regular 26650 battery? I’m willing to give up usb charging in exchange for using my many other high capacity 26650 batteries.

Do you have a picture of the stock battery? How does it differ from a regular 26650?
Hi will, the mmu x3r uses a proprietary 26650 battery. It has a possitive and negative contacts on both ends.

If it’s anything like the Olight S80 you don’t have to do anything to make it work. You just can’t charge the cell in the light.
I believe the Olight S80 also uses proprietary 26650 battery only for usb charging.
The S80 is also designed to work with regular 26650 but you wont be able to usb charge.
MMU X3R is not made to handle regular 26650 batteries.
S80 battery only have + & - contact in one end.
X3R battery have + & - contact on both ends.
