Mod number 2 exploring the capabilities of the Yuji 5mm high CRI led (97CRI).
One of my favourite headlamps is the Nextorch Eco Star. It is rugged (nylon, perhaps even fiber reinforced), it is leight-weight, it has “longish” runtimes on 2 common AAA batteries (I use Ikealoops), and it is very muggle friendly. Bonus points for the red LED with crazy throw.
The only disadvantage of this cute light are the stock 5mm Nichia (GS?) leds.
So I replaced those with 2 Yuji 3200K leds.
The result is a fantastic headlamp.
I think Nextorch should sell the Eco Star with Yuji leds instead of the Nichia ones.
Perhaps someone should start an interest thread to see if we can persuade Nextorch to sell a special high CRI edition of this headlamp…
… oh wait, first we have to persuade Fenix
