Mod: Shadow TC500

Hi guys!

maybe you remember… i won a TC500 from Hopback for Christmas

He swapped the xml for a de-domed xpg2 on a maxtoch direct copper PCB
and centered it pretty well…

when i received the light i could not resist and tried to adjust it a bit more - and was sucessful .

but then i also wanted to push the Amps also and got to the Question: Where was L+ connected?

the R100 got another one piggybacked and
i changed to AWG18 silicone wires (ended drilling new holes in the head)
(no pictures because of pure uglyness  )

then i filed the PCB - added another shim - thermal paste - a lot filing on the reflector - sanding the biggest mounains off my solder “work”
(your eyes could not stand the mess - so: no pictures here… )

well i ended here:

not sooo bad centered…

the reflector touches the PCB

Amp @ emitter low mid high
TC500 before 0.25 1.2 2.4
TC500 mod 0.45 2.17 4.45

.

k Lux low mid high
TC500 1m 15 74,5 140
TC500 5m 0.98 4.3 7.4
HD2010 5m - - 6.2
TC500 calc 5 to 1m 24.5 107.5 185

calc 5 to 1m = reading x 25 right?
HD2010 has a dedomed XM-L2, BLFDD17 @ 4,3A

well - i hunted a gray wall also…

standing 3m from the wall at beginning
you can see the dounut disappear at 40cm distance

So you upped the power and refocused as well? What size MCPCB is that?

Hi!

yes I nearly doubled the emitter amps and did some sanding on the reflector.

hopback used a 26mm Maxtoch
