Modding host potential of 85W HID flashlight

I was donated an Ebay 85W HID flashlight with a broken ballast.

The battery pack is a 11.1V 6600mah and it appears to hold a charge. Apparently even when it was working, the 85W Xenon bulb was lackluster.

Has anyone ever tried to mod one of these? What potential does it have as a host? I’ve never tried modding before, but I do have experience with soldering. Any tips welcome.

I’ve had one lying around with the intention of modding. I did start with a 50w cob LED and lens, but used the driver on something else and it got shelved. The lens could have been the one below, but can’t be sure:

Then I spotted a 66.6mm 4x cree XML reflector recently and ordered one. I thought 4xXHP50.2 would be nice evil:

My original battery packs don’t hold power any more, so I thought 3 of these may do:

Thanks for the links. 4x XHP50.2 would be sweet. What driver would you recommend? And since I don’t see a way to re-purpose the ballast, how did you mount the LED and drivers? I’m probably biting of more than I can chew, but it looks like this flashlight has the mass to dissipate a lot of heat. I suspect my original battery pack is not healthy either since it was sitting dormant for some time.
