I’d like to know who you think is worthy of being mentioned as an innovator in the world of flashlight research and development. Who has changed the game, set standards, pioneered new lands in the world of flashlights?
Fellas at MagLite certainly deserve a mention for what they brought to the table…and whoever it was that started doing HID in portable lighting (great tech overall, god rest its soul).
Clemence…or who was it here that really started to explore and develop DTP boards? That was major.
I’ll add Richard McDougal of Mountain Electronics. He was an incredible source of flashlight info and has an awesome store that I rely on for my flashlight mods.
His MTN-17DDm is one of the the best direct drive drivers you can get. Plus he has S2/S2+ spacers, high quality silicone wires, Carclo optics, legit batteries, etc.
Selfbuilt was a great flashlight reviewer who was active on candle power a few years back. Zeroair is a great reviewer as well! They both have influenced a lot of my purchases.
