I haven’t seen any discussed recently but I’d like to see some lights you wanted or went out and bought after you saw on tv or in a movie
the ones i wanna know what are are in the new riddick movie (2013) the bigheaded one the guy is using after the guy gets cought in the bear trap and i think there are a few more
Most of the time, in CSI for example, it’s Surefire flashlight. But my flashlight interrest is quite recent so I don’t recognize easily.
My former interrest was knives and I mostly recognize knives in movie myself, the hardest to find was the knife use by Jean Reno in the first Mission Impossible movie that turn out to be a cheap diving knife.
Were getting close! J)
I think that in the movie Panic Room (with Jodie Foster) the little girl used a SureFire 6P used to Morse-Code for summing help.
My wife and I recently watched Prometheus again and when I said I happen to know what kind of flashlights they were using, she just rolled her eyes… Fenix TK45
What did they use in The X-Files ?
In X-Files for the big thrower it’s a maxabeam, not a budget light.
Sure many a member would not object to Scully parking her maxabeam upon their night table
Any idea upon this one ?
Looks like Princeton Tec dive lights to me. Then again not exactly.

Edit: No it’s not a Princeton Tec - sorry for the confusion.
I always wondered what the flashlights were used in the series Sanctuary, where they boarded a ship frozen in ice. I think TK75s but not sure.
In gone in 60 seconds there was a scene with several maxabeams I believe. Maxabeams were in Jurassic park too
In hurt locker I believe there was an incandescent Surefire 6P. It was a later in this scene (not in the clip) when working on disarming the bomb in that car. Good movie.
Jurassic Park was such a great movie, I would happily sit and watch it now.
I like the scene in close encounters of the third kind when Dreyfus’s flashlight came back on in the pickup truck
Prop dept. often alter appearance of ordinary products to make them look cool and or unrecognizable. Which is why sometimes its so hard to figure out what type of flashlight is being used.
anybody one here ever actually owned a maxabeam?
just saw oblivion on hbo tonight - im pretty sure tom cruise was using a triple xpg2 light from oveready
I used to wonder about those Jurassic park lights as they looked like HID’s. one day I am going to get a 12v rechargeable spotlight and put one of my ballasts and a d2s in it. but one thing about that movie was the beam the reflector produced
looked pretty cool
The silver **fires in Prometheus.
anybody know what these are it’s from the movie “the colony”
Not exactly on topic, but I’ve been on a big cat youtube video rampage and noticed this the other night while watching a snow leopard documentary.
Looks like an XR-E/XP-E zoomie to me.
Oh, and Nat Geo’s big cat week > Discovery’s shark week…. Just sayin’.
