Is there any leaning toward which brand is a better cell, Samsung or LG?

Ugh Krugman, :shudders:

Yeah, working on it now actually. It's just going to be a master/slave/slave 105C setup with custom code. I'm running into program space issues now though (and I'm not even doing much yet), and I'm spending a good amount of time trying to measure parasitic drain. Next up I need to test a single 7135 connected to a load to see how much leakage there is, as PPtk and texaspyro reported up to a milliamp of draw. Would really kill the ability for the light to sit on a shelf not locked out.

Tyrant, socialist?
Please elaborate

Soon to be available:

-BTU Shocker! XM-L U2 1A, XM-L2 U2 1B, XM-L2 T6 3C (of course with a host of upgrade parts and options to go along with them! )
-DQG Triple XP-G2 --- 1A and 4A.

The BTUs only come with the DRY driver now, which I hear has been slightly tweaked but we'll have to wait and see. I am seeing about a batch of the FL-2 driver made with low voltage protection for 3S cells.

I’m glad I stopped by since I’ve been wanting to grab some parts and just haven’t been in for the long wait times. They’ll definitely be an order or two soon ;).

I still have to order the SF hosts from them though >_< (Last order took forever).

Sorry, a bit of sarcasm... he doesn't believe tax cuts are the correct answer to every economic situation, therefore he's denounced as whatever evil buzzword du jour - Communist, 'taker', Socialist, etc.

Its great to see you’re still gearing up and building your business.

Can you tell us how the Dry driver has been tweaked from the way it was?

When I ordered, this page was showing the older two-board version, now it shows this thing:

http://www.cnqualitygoods.com/goods.php?id=1349

Hasn't shipped yet (it's only been 10 days), so no idea which one I will eventually get.

The shocker is cool, but I like the SRK’s. Actually talking a little out my backside as I have neither. I know I’m the last guy to buy an SRK but I like the size and form factor. If only it could be tweaked to take a single emitter like the MTG2 and a deep reflector…

Hows that going? I might be interested in a few drivers depending on the price.

I contacted lightmalls about this.. But they did not understand the request despite their description.

Contacted LCK-LED, but did not get a reply..

Having a proper low voltage cut off and not just warning of would be great if you are getting a custom batch.

I happen to have a DRY driver I ordered back in August (+/-), but I can't even remember if it has two-boards or not. I know the description sounds the same as I remember. Driver hasn't been touched since I ordered it (just added it in with a 26650 King Kong order) so I can't report anything about it. I can post pics if it's of interest to anyone.

My CNQG order did take quite awhile too with little to no idea what was going on with it.

Thanks. Im looking forward to your comments once you get it (if thats what you get :expressionless: ). It’ll be interesting to see what they did to the PWM freq and how the FET delivers. To bad the UI doesnt include an ability to disable the annoying 180 sec stepdown.

sarcasm doesn’t come across online unfortunately, i have to strain to avoid it because i use it frequently

besides, we can contract bicycle repair man to tackle international communism

Richard, great job on the Qlite mod, thanks.

I just noticed after receiving the second order of Convoy S2's that the first one has no logo on the battery tube, not even the flat area to put one on. I would think it was weird, if it didn't come from China.

Any chance of getting XP-E2 on noctogon in 1D tint? The 1C seems to get a slightly greenish cast when dedomed. Makes a nice throwy P60 dropin, even though the focus still needs fine tuning.

Ha, Paul "it didn't work because you didn't spend enough" Krugman. He believes government spending is the answer to pretty much any situation. He might not be a socialist, just a statist like every Keynesian.

Ok I'm done ;)

So if cutting taxes really increases revenue, would a negative tax rate give infinite revenue? Or how does that work, anyway? What about 120% tax rate on poor people (after all not really 'poor', I mean they have electricity and TVs), and -20% on rich people? Wouldn't the ecomony take off like a rocket? No?

Unsubscribing...

Here’s a test @3A comparing the previous LG and Samsumg 3000mAh versions:
http://www.dampfakkus.de/akkuvergleich.php?akku1=102&akku2=104&akku3=&akku4=&akku5=&akku6=&a=3
It shows the LG 3000mAh 4.35V superior to the Samsung 3000mah 4.35V.
I’m guessing the LG 3200mAh would be the better cell between these new ones.
Hopefully HKJ will get his hand on both for some real data.

Grabbed a little pocket S3 host for my 219, a warm XML2 for the L2M and a few q-light drivers + Battery’s to top it off. Hopefully it all gets here soon (Although I had some 7135’s moved around, I know that’ll delay it a bit) and I’ll be able to have some finished hosts for once ;).

Really debating a MT-G2 build, but I just wouldn’t use it much nowadays. Between the short run-time, form factor issues and obvious need to mod them I just don’t have the time right now :(.

Some day!

Ah, ok. I was using HKJ's 18650 Comparator (which also includes 26650's) and I thought earlier I saw the 2800's (both at 4.20v and then both at 4.30v) were darn close to each other, but now I do see the LG performing better.

Thanks,
Garry

FWIW HKJ’s comparator does show LG’s 4.35v 3000mAh cell beating Sanyo’s 4.35v 3000mAh cell. HKJ’s graphs definitely don’t show anywhere near the gap between LG/Sanyo that the dampfakkus.de graph shows between LG/Samsung, but then again I don’t know if the discharge testing methodology is comparable enough. HKJ’s LG 4.3v 2800mAh vs Samsung 4.3v 2800mAh also didn’t show as much of a gap as the dampfakkus.de graph shows for the 3000’s.

Under a larger 5A load HKJ’s testing shows the LG stuff firmly beating both Sanyo and Samsung by a no-nonsense 0.1v margin basically across the board.
