For low-brightness emergency lights, I’ve started putting RMM’s one-level Nanjg 110 Boost Driver - 17mm - 1-2x AA, 1xCR123A, 1xLiFePo4
in “last year’s” 18650-size lights, with amber XPE emitters
so I can safely give them away to people with 4/3AF NiMH cells and LI-100 chargers
(these cells were used in computer NiMH batterypacks — they’re the same size as the current 18650 li-ions that replaced them in that use)
(4000 - 4500 mAh capacity. Definitely low-drain, haven’t found any that are low self-discharge)
I turned on two lights 24 hours ago and they’re still giving ample useful light.
And I can ‘upgrade’ them to 3v LiFePO4.
In even the cheapest host (SkyWolfEye zoomie, hollow pill, made of slightly thicker than aluminum foil sheet metal) they don’t overheat the host running continuously.
Not the hotrod at all, but for those who like this sort of thing, useful.
It seems like the Nanjg 110 is getting harder to find. I'm working on what I hope to be a decent upgrade from that driver, with the option (but not necessary) for modes and synchronous rectification for more efficiency. Will it work? Who knows...it is all a process.
My wallet is in recovery from flashlititis at the moment, will be a couple of weeks before I can rectify the problem with this pre-order at which time perhaps they’ll be in stock…
Richard knows I’m badly wanting one though, so maybe with a little luck he’ll be letting little Em practice engraving my name on one with the rotary tool.
Well, I don’t know if he’s actually offering it yet, figured Em would be writing soon and she may as well put some dents and dings on my new light so I can get it cheaper. hahahahaha
After all, Richard took lessons from Vinh on Engraving 101 so he should be getting it down pat now any day.
I really want this light (BTU PK26), BUT in the last four days, I ordered three new lights. Plus an order of batteries from RMM, but really I can stop anytime I want, really, I have this under control, after this light I am done, really
I have a few custom lights I need to sell. Any interest in them?
ALL LIGHTS NOW UP ON THE WEBSITE. PRICES MAY BE DIFFERENT THAN WHAT WAS LISTED EARLIER.
Good condition (some light scratching and marks---most of them were there from the factory) - Supernight 12x Latticebright XM-L showerhead --- grey --- MTN-MAX buck driver. 3x 26650. A regulated ~4000 lumens OTF until the batteries die; low moonlight mode. Tint is cool white, but not nasty like I've seen a lot of them.
Like new - Convoy S6, Aluminum spacer, Triple Nichia 219C D280 80+ CRI, 17mm MTN-17DDm with Bistro.
Great condition - 2x18650 MT-G2 M0 4000K light. 22mm MTN-MAX, guppydrv, and an AWESOME beam with AWESOME tint. Nice balanced light. I built this light myself and it turned out so nice that I would keep this light for myself but what am I going to do with another light? I have way too many now and I really only use 4-5 of them. I need to thin the herd.
Great condition (very lightly used) Niwalker Nova MM15 2x MT-G2. Stock. Includes box and attachable handle. Beautiful MT-G2 tint with a mega-flood 5000+ lumens.
can’t say I didn’t have my shot at all these lights! I spent at least 1/2 an hour here. Even watched several reviews online of the Niwalker. If it included cells I would have been a buyer. That S6 will be a beauty for someone! Sheesh, I wanted them ALL. These will all sell quickly no doubt. I wish there was a picture of Richard’s MT-G2, are those cells side by side or end to end? Guess I”ll find out tomorrow when he posts some pictures. Anyone who knows Richard knows these are quality offerings!
Richard, I was looking at your Gift Certificate/Voucher page and I see that it says the gift certificate will be emailed to the recipient. I’m wondering if there is a way to get a physical Certificate/Card for gifting in real life, rather than through email. I understand that a physical card is redundant for a web-only store. Both giver/recipient would have to go online to your website in order to purchase/redeem the voucher anyway. But, I thought I’d ask.
