Just thought I’d post all my builds here
16A breaker for true direct drive, module from my 7 years old spicy powerbank
DD turbo
Convoy 3A linear 20mm 4mode driver, reverse switch
Three old VTC4
Cant live without lanyard
What should I add next to this?
Some time ago I made these simple COB flashlights on 15cm pieces of aluminum cornice as a radiator
Sumbulbs 120x36 12V 12W 3000K R80 LEDs underdriven to 3W(~300 lm) in order to not overheat
The cheapest 1A switch
Bought 8 used Samsung INR18650 35E for ~2$ each, connected in parallel.
TP4056 Type-C board for charging and protection
MT3608 constant current boost module
Everything is held by a hot glue, there’s some thermal paste under the LED.
Doesn’t that thermal glue soften due to heat produced by LEDs?
Discontinued 1x18650 powerbank from AliExpress
LMP LML2AW.DC 3000K, Convoy S2+ smooth reflector, glass and GITD o-ring
5W micro-usb input/usb-a output
Click for High-Low-Strobe modes, hold for SOS
LED&TIR it had before
Depends on the type of glue, but at relatively low temperatures(under 80C) nothing happens
Convoy L21B buck10A w “XND HP HI 70” from Mateminco
The LED die is kinda off to the side
I’m not that great at reflowing.. flux everywhere.
Really throwy, can’t look at the hotspot at a few meters. I hope to post better beamshots soon
Pipebomb completed.
Convoy T6 LHP73B 6500K direct drive. Sanded down 18mm spacer to fit 17mm driver space.
Oh, so it’s literally.
How many amperes does H10 provide?
The wrapper says 10A continuous, the thing was 2x brighter than my C8+ XHP70.3HI R70 5000K
Unfortunately I don’t have proper tools to measure current
Convoy C8 LHP73B 6500K
The lowest moonlight I have ever seen from convoy
Discounted Molibent P30B grade B
22mm 3V20A buck driver fitted nearly perfectly, I had to sand down battery tube anodisation to make contact
Smaller and shorter switch spring to prevent short circuit
Comparison to my C8+ XHP70.3HI R70 5000K
Turbo
Moonlight
Did you put the 22mm 3v20a driver in a C8+, how’d you manage to fit those, sanding? or any milling involved?
I have m21a with xhp70.3 hi 6v5a driver, since i use the m21b to test the lmp73b and theyvre awesome
Cheers ![]()
Just move it around until it fits. Tighten the body tube enough but not too much. Check for shorts and you are ready to go. I added one more S2+ o-ring to hide the hole between tube&head and for additional waterproofness.
Is the driver sits at the shelf in the opening or only hanging by snugfitting it? And the ground contact is by the tube edge with the driver circumference?
I have such plan but havent execute them, then i read yours

The driver sits on the battery tube, and I think the cables don’t allow it to be centered. So it’s a bit off to the side
Made some reflows finally
From now on my Boruits(V3 and U8) have 519a 3000K in them, somehow they are rosier than the same one in Skilhunt H200, maybe a different bin was used
It is possible that the different optic is making the difference. By inspection, the Skilhunt optic looks like the type to produce a green hotspot and purple spill, while the Boruit flat triple optic appear almost mule-like, which tends to make a rosy beam.
