This is my self built “charger- power supply”. It was built from an old computer powder supply and two postage stamp intergraded circuit chargers from eBay. (SOS for ICs, see links)
To increase its functionality I added two 5V USB power outlets and a 12V Car power outlet. It now charges LiIon Batteries, Phones, Cameras, GPSs, and what ever!
The PSU has a fine tune potentiometer to adjust the on-load voltage … Mine is set to just below 5 volts.
I can use this to charge up to four USB items at up to four amps total load … I mainly use it as a PSU for my four cheap Li-Ion charger boards … It works very well.
Pavithra_uk! Thanks! Yes, I see that “d” now. That explains why that old computer went up in smoke.
The slide switches are off/on switches for the two IC charger boards. The 12V and 5V receptacles are powered with the computer pow(d)er switch and then the slide switches power either or both ICs chargers.
Might add the holes above the switches are access holes to see the charger status LEDs mounted inside the enclosure. The 4 battery tray was rewired and is now 2 independent trays.
This was all put together with what I had lying around, except the IC boards.
Thanks Chicago X, this is my first post. I’ll learn.
