My collection from 2014

Almost 10 years ago I joined BLF. Here’s my collection from 2014 acquired over a 1 year period. Threw in some that aren’t flashlights to throw you guys off  Last flashlight purchase was the Tool Ti in 2015 xO I know right… How could one go so long without buying more lights… Well that’s changing starting right now xD

My favourite of the bunch is the BLF X6. The look and feel is just beautiful and so wonderful to use, the build quality was and still is out of this world for the price they were sold at. Have already bought a bunch more hosts under the Mezzol brand

Coming back to the hobby after almost 10 years has really put into perspective how much has changed in that time, all the new tech is extremely exciting especially for breathing new life into old flashlights. (Bonus points for those who guess what the customs are ;).

Not sure if this is something members typically post, or if this post usually just goes in the big collection thread.

Nice collection of flashlights! They all look brand new.

The 3rd and 5th in from the right look really cool. :+1:

Thanks everyone! Will have to start doing some beamshots as well

@NeutralFan Thank you! They’re both made by Sinner. He initally started making laser hosts but now exclusively does flashlights. The 3rd from the right is my profile pic, has a Nichia NDB7875 housed in it.

The market for high ticket hand-made flashlights is much bigger compared to lasers of course.

Love it!

Newbies may not be aware of how well built and beefy a lot of the early lights were.
And in many cases easier to mod as features such as screw in brass pills vs solid shelves allowed different thickness lens and even different reflectors to be used without ugly head gaps and water ingress problems.

Downside is most had the dreaded H-M-L Strobe-SOS relentless cycle and plenty of low freq PWM to go around but drivers were cheap and plentiful so it was easy to rectify.
Thanks to the great members here was able to learn most of what they did and enjoyed the heck out of overdriving an XML2 and learning diff ways to de-dome an emitter as they all had domes back then.
Thanks and keep the old lights coming.

Keith

I many ways, old lights are like old cars, they get better with time.
