I was looking for a high-output EDC-style flashlight that could handle both everyday tasks and emergency situations. I already own a few Nitecore lights and wanted to see if the EDC37 really lives up to the hype around its 8,000 lumen output and flat EDC form factor. The build quality is excellent. The PVD coated aluminum body feels solid and premium, and the flat design makes it much easier to carry in a pocket compared to traditional round lights. I bought this with my own money and used a 10% coupon (NITECORE10-SMW), which helped reduce the price a bit.
I have an EDC37. The max output is incredible and it has good build quality
However, it is much too bulky and heavy for me to ever consider this an edc light. No way could I pocket carry this and not notice the weight or bulk.
The Nitecore EDC23 is a much better size for edc. Unfortunately the switch on my EDC23 broke rendering the light unusable.
