I recently had an excuse to pull out my Gerber auto in public; I know it is silly but it was fun for me. My wife baby and I was sitting in a yuppie Mexican restaurant (food was actually good). My baby needed the lemon cut into chunks. Well the table did not have a real knife so my wife ask me for mine. I deploy my gerber 06 in broad daylight. No one batted an eye. I feel bad now.
I don't own any automatic knives, but when I open my assisted-openers in public, I do it as if they are manual openers.

I had a RajaH ii, I think the people in this restaurant were oblivious.
It was not a real Mexican restaurant.
Make sure you clean and oil any knife that is use to cut acidic fruit, Especially if it is made from carbon steel, If it`s made from stainless it`s not such a problem as it`s a lot more resistant to rust.
