Nanjg 1400 Double Tap

Is this normal I bought a few Nanjg 1400 driver (low-medium-high) and installed it in my Ultrafire MCU C7 and my first light.

I know memory mode works with the light on for 2 seconds last mode. The issue is when I switch the light on, I can switch to the next mode with a single tap but less say if I leave it on high mode for more than 2 seconds and I want i want to go to low I have to double tap it. Is this normal?

At first I thought I had damaged the driver on the Ultrafire but it happened to my First light as well. On one has ever mentioned this.

Yes that’s normal, that’s how “on-time memory” functions.

Yes I understand "on time memory" but why double tap to go to next mode?

because after its been on long enought to memorize the mode the next time its looses power (whether turned off a longer time or just tapped to switch modes) it will come back to the same mode it was last used in since memory is enabled.

So say its in high and you leave it on over the memory time (2sec), no matter if you turn it off for a long time or just bump the switch, the next time it looses power and then comes back on it will be at the same mode, therefore to get to the next mode (again once its been longer than the memory time) you will actually have to double power cycle so its: on high [memorized] > off > on high [where it returned to] > off > on low.

Dont think of memory as only how the memory works, “on-time” or “off-time” effects everything, its actually “on-time mode switching”, not just on time memory.

thanks for explaining, I thought it was weird also when I got my first on time memory driver.
