Hey, I’m looking for 2 new batteries for my Convoy C8.
I own this one (with spring at the bottom)
Not sure if I need it to be protected.

Will it fit my flashlight (by size)?
Is it good battery (value and quality)?

That cell in protected form might not fit.
As a matter of fact, I have 4 Convoys now.
2 x a C8 a S2 and a S2+
The Panasonics fit 1 C8 barely (it is the thickness that is the problem.)
So I would thin unprotected should fit and the Convoys have low voltage protection so you can do without it.
So the Unprotected one will fit my C8 in the thickness for sure?
Because I already own 2 battery that are too fat for it…
Last batch of c8s I purchased from Simon, protected cells do not fit!
He response was that unprotected cells were too loose in tube, so he changed the diameter from 19 to 18.7mm.
I measured 18.6+ diameter in mine, so batteries with PCB don’t fit:-(
So never buy protected batteries for C8.
And the diameter of the Convoy C8 tube is 18.6mm for sure?
Here the diameter of the unprotected one is 18.3mm,
And here someone says the protected ones fits the “new c8”.
I believe there is a problem with last batch, I have other new gen c8, with integrated pill, which accepts protected batteries.
The one I bought from bg have no issue, these I bought directly from Convoy store, don’t fit.
I think first of all I’ll just measure the diameter of my C8…
Are you playing with your flashlights in the nude?

My flashlight inner width:
It’s about 18.5mm (I wish I had electronic one to measure with).
Tube length is about 71.2mm, battery 65mm.
So it will fit with no problems.
(my flashlight is the “New” or the “Old” version?)
I’m not sure I would buy batteries from Gearbest, lots of fake stuff in recent times. Not saying I wouldn’t use them for some things.
Until things change, I’ve been getting most 18650’s from Banggood.
I like the Samsung 30Q. For any lights that pull circa 3amps, these will generally out perform most of the batteries out there. And are a very good price for the performance., i.e. if you use High mode mostly.
Uh.
The price is almost double. (3.57$ at GB/5.99$ at BG)
And the reviews on the NCR18650B at GB are pretty good…

Fasttech always has the best standard prices for batteries.
Fasttech is also a good option.

The price is almost the same so I don’t mind. (at GB 6.99$ after shipping and discount for a pair)
Is there any better battery for the C8?
Need 2 for about this price…
The 30Q are too expensive

Using the community buy link the M4D M4X runs you can get 2 Samsung 30Q’s delivered for $9.99.
I just received mine this week.
Are they that good that I should buy only them?
(and where can I find that link?)
And will they fit my C8? Both 18.5mm
Don’t you?
lol
