I’m looking to get a two lights and I thinking I’m also ready to jump into rechargeable batteries too. My current nice light is a surefire 6px pro and I have a single AA light I keep in my pocket all the time.
For the new lights I would like for them to use the same batteries if I could but if not something else would be fine. For my high power non edc I’d like for it to be about the size of my surefire 6px but brighter and longer lasting. For the pocket like I want it to have the diameter of a AA/cr123a light and no longer than 4 inches with a head that doesn’t flare out a lot or if it does very minimal.
And then a recomendation on charger and batteries.
What about levels/modes and how many, UI type (clicky or twisty or both), tactical momentary on or regular switch, cool white, neutral or warm white emitter tint, etc., and price point?
For the power source, you could use a single 3.7v 18650 Li-Ion rechargeable battery which is the same diameter and length as two CR123 cells together. That gives you the option of the rechargeables with regular CR123 batteries as backup if the light handles the 6+ volts, or multiple 18650 batteries and swap them in the light as needed. I recently made a similar choice and acquired the Lumintop ED20 with neutral white tint as it fit many of my needs.
For the pocket light, there are dozens of choices - you need to specify your needs, features required, modes, UI, etc., before we can make recommendations.
Sorry completely forgot about UI. I’d like a tail cap on both but on my pocked light twist on would be fine if I get a brighter light out of it but preference is tail cap. Don’t care if it tail stands. I’d like at least two modes and a strobe on both. Price point about $20 for the small and about $40 for the large one. Plus batteries and charger
