Need help with an S2+ build

Hey all! I’m hoping you can help me out. This is my first time building a light and I can’t figure this out.

I was thinking of using the Lume1 FW3X mcpcb w/rgb aux lights and FFL350RD 3500k emitters. What 17mm driver should go along with this? I’d prefer something that can run Anduril 2. But it’s not a requirement. However, something that will utilize the rgb aux is a requirement.

If that’s not doable, what’s a better suggestion for 3 of those emitters?

What ya got?

Thanks for any help you can offer!

You can’t run Anduril on a S2+. The S2+ uses a mechanical switch and Anduril requires an e-switch.
Also you cannot run Aux on a mechanical switch light.

You could use secondaries with a Dragon Driver(Link) but it would be single color not RGB.

I’m not completely sold on the S2+. It just seemed the easiest to get. Is there a better Host?

If you want Aux and/or Anduril you’ll need a host with and e-switch and a driver that fits it and has RGB Aux capabilities.
Also if you still plan to use the FW3 MCPCB and Aux pcb it will also have to be compatible with a 20mm triple configuration.

I don’t know of any stock hosts that are setup for this.

Ok, thanks!

Now why ya gotta go and tease me like that? Me no like you no more!

J/k! Teach me, wise one!

For us mere mortals we can get ramping by flashing Crescendo firmware onto this driver

Some Maeerxu flashlights use drivers with rear mechanical on/off switches and fancy aux light functions. (But no aux lights on when the flashlight is turned off.) The UI is quite complex. other Archives - maeerxu

I haven’t measured the pill/ driver size in mine, but it’s bigger than an S2+ AFAIK.

I ended up buying the dragon driver and mcpcb with aux from CWF since I know they will work together and they will slide right into an S2+.

Next build I’ll dig a little more into it and dive a little bit deeper.

You’ll need a spacer if you don’t already have one:

If you plan to use an illuminated tailcap you’ll need to add a bleeder resistor to the driver.
The Dragon Driver has the pads for one.
I recommend a 470-475Ohm Resistor.

Yep. Got one coming

I did plan on that. Thanks for the heads up. Where would I go about getting that resistor?

If i remember correctly it takes a 0805 resistor.
They have them all over aliexpress or if you are in the US digikey.com is a faster option:

I am in the US. Thanks! I hadn’t heard of digikey before. I’ll get that ordered ASAP.
