Need help with Convoy 22mm 6V8A Driver. Stuck on turbo mode

Hello, I’m usually just lurking in this forum and after recently jumping into this flashlight modding hobby.

I recently gotten myself a M21C, but since I can’t get host only I gotten one with SFT40 6500K with 8A driver. But then I put a XHP70.3 HI 4000K R9050 along with the 22mm 6V8A driver from Convoy. I’m using Molicel P42A battery. So the issue I’m currently having is that the driver is only stuck on turbo mode. I can go change the group but none of them change the power output.

That is only partially true?, cause this only happen if the battery voltage is above 3.7V IIRC, since when I’m testing the flashlight using my bench power supply I also tried with 3.5-3.6V since I remember reading the boost driver only work on high power if the battery don’t sag under 3.7V, while testing using this voltages I found out the mode kinda work but only drawing around 3-5A, but as soon as i put it just above 3.7V the light flickers really quickly first before instantly going back on drawing ~15A, only near 4V it just fully turn on without the flicker and goes directly into turbo mode.

I provided some pictures of measurement of the battery voltage and current draw using the battery, as well as the driver and emitter.

I’m really confused if this driver faulty or if I did something wrong, any clues or help would be appreciated. Thank you (and sorry if this is the wrong Categories to put it in)

Changing mode doesn't work

Bonus beamshot of it ig, without reflector nor lens. WB 5000K. I think its doesn’t have the green tint?, could be just cause it doesn’t have reflector nor lens yet, but I heard the high CRI version of XHP70.3 can be quite green.

I think, could be mistaken, but the SFT40 is a 3v LED. So it is a ~3V 8A driver trying to drive a 6V LED. I don’t play around enough with the drivers to know how it might behave if it is indeed a mismatch.

Edit nevermind I see you replaced the driver too.

Yeah, I did change it

After reaching out to Simon, I got a replacement driver and it is now working fine.

Still really confused by the old driver.
