Had this posted in the X6 sales thread decided this is a better avenue.
I have a question (or a cry for help!), I was playing around with my X6 and seem to have put it in “muggle mode”. I cannot get back into the config to reset it. I also notice that somehow through clicking, it decides that police flasher is the other mode and I can cycle back and forth between it and what appears to be “high” (maybe), before it is single mode again.
Please help, lol.
Did you try doing a factory reset? The UI can be a little tricky until you are familiar with it. Dale made a nice video that helps explain in much greater detail than I can but essentially you keep rapidly tapping the switch until it stops cycling through any modes (around 16 or 17 times if memory serves) then give the button a solid full press. Wait a few seconds and turn it on. It should now be in config mode where it starts the process of blinks followed by a “stutter” or “flickering” type of light flash. This signifies the separation between each mode selection. If you just count off those stutter beam patterns until you get to the eighth one and turn it off at that eight stutter you should have performed a factory reset and be out of muggle mode.
I had to read through TK’s written instructions a few times for the Bistro firmware before I understood it. Now that I do understand it’s not intimidating and quite a wonder to behold such amazing programming in a flashlight. I hope this helps.
Edit: ToyKeeper takes the time to write full explanations of how each UI works and posts them.
If you need the full written instructions (I did ) you can find them here: Bistro Firmware
I tried it again about an hour after posting this. I still cannot get it to go into config mode (blinks and stutters), that was the issue. Maybe it wasn’t seeing a mode change because it was only one mode? Then all of a sudden there were modes again, I am at a loss, lol.
Does “muggle mode” have a timer associated with it? I have read through the instructions and googled the hell out of it, but couldn’t seem to find an answer. I also could have missed it.
