Need recommendation for 10440 and 14500

Hi all!

I’d like to restock on 10440 and 14500… to feed such lights as the Ultratac K18 or Jetbeam I MK. So far i mostly have xxxFire cells i bought a couple years ago. So i’m wondering what the option are today.

Note that i’m in Europe, so ordering from the US is not an option.

I am looking at HKJ report on small batteries but don’t know how up to date it is. I don’t see the Sanyo UR14500P in there for instance…

I have four Keeppower 14500 from BG in the cart right now.

Thanks for your input.

Cant go wrong with sanyo inside, iirc there are 800 and 840mah, just make sure the length of the cell will suit the light.
10440 wise, efest do pretty decent ones and never had any issue with them. mah is not the highest, so dont expect any decent run times on higher outputs with them(a spare or 2 would be a good option).

The summary page is not up to date, but the tests are up to date.
These two pages are updated frequently:

And here is the Sanyo cells.

How are you fine sir? Good recommendations!

,WOLFDOG/CAPOLINI here!! lol!

s. I have been on here 3+ years and by early next year you will have more posts than I !!

Hey there, ok here thanks, hope all is well your side and capo keeping you well exercised……………along with your lights

I have both those lights. For the Ultratac K18 I have a couple Efest 10440’s they work great on this light. I think HKJ did a review on them. I also have four protected Soshine 350mAh 10440 type batteries that I bought on Ebay for cheap, kinda took a chance. The Efest was to short for my wifes Crelant E3 by 1mm. I dont have any technical data but but they seem to be running neck in neck with the Efest on runtime. The Jetbeam has three choices and HKJ has reviewed them all. Windyfire IMR14500 red label 600mAh, Sanyo UR14500P 800mAh and lastly Efest 14500-PROT 800mAh. I havnt done any side by side with these but im happy with all 3, I use the protected cells more because of safety the Windyfire is for my pocketrockets. Im not sure if you have access to these brands, but for what its worth hope I could help a little.

soshine 10440 are pretty decent from what ive used, and i have keeppower 14500 for years now and still works like a champ.

I use Efest 10180 quite a lot and like them. My Trustfire 10180’s have less capacity; visibly weaker and less runtime but not bad cells. Only one 14500 here, another Efest so without something to compare it to I have no opinion of it yet.

While budget pricing matters, with these small cells it seems wiser to get the best even at the higher cost, because in a performance light runtimes are very short to start with. The larger cells might be OK in a lesser version because you have more power in reserve and thus a decent runtime using almost any cell. And now with Chinese shipping rates so high, there’s even less reason to waste that money on lesser cells- shipping costs the same for cheap or great cells. Just the way I think, YMMV.

I use these in aaa lights which won’t work with flat top 10440

Thank you all for the comments and advises.

I ordered the 4 KP 14500 800mAh from BG and 4 Efest IMR10440 350mAh from a vape shop over here. I’ll probably get some Sanyo 14500 too.

With local shipping i think the Efest 10440 did cost as much as the last 30Qs i ordered from China not long ago… :person_facepalming:
At least i’ll have some decent cells for keychain rockets. :sunglasses:

Bring on the Mi7 Ti! :smiling_imp:

I used to carry some spares but i soon realized i may as well carry other aaa lights. It doesn’t take more space considering you have to carry cells in a protective case or something. The backup lights are the protective cases! I think i currently have 3 or 4 in my backpack. … and still have a couple spare cells! :person_facepalming:
